The sun rises each morning, bestowing light upon the land that is known as Nockfell. Vibrant colorful hues advance from the star causing its glossy gaze to reflect on a young man's window. The laughter of all ages echoes throughout the neighborhood which turned into cheerful screams of excitement and fun. Hearing the noise, the young man with jet black hair popped up out of his bed and immediately raced to his window to investigate the criminals who disturbed his slumber. Instead of yelling at the children to pipe down like he immediately planned, a breath caught in his throat prevented him from doing so. He gawked at the magical sight, of a thick fluffy white blanket covering the streets, the buildings, as well as the grass. "Snow?" he questioned in a trance of the snow flurry

Snow danced in the light, like a choreographed ballet with the gentle howl of the wind conducting each snow flurry. A familiar blue-haired young man with his hair half up today could be seen with a young girl, her hair mirroring his choice of hairstyle today. They look like they're on a date the young man thought to himself his eyes never leaving the hottie with the fiery hair. "Sal! I almost forgot it Valentine's Day!" she exclaimed as her pale warm breath pierced the cold

The blue-haired young man that's known as Sal looked ahead with his hands stuffed in his black winter coat. He mumbled something to her that caused her to giggle and hold onto his forearm. "Lucky bastard," the random thought already fed up with the mushiness just by watching the couple

"Well, going back to bed can never hurt," he yawned closing his window making his way to dreamland

~Sal's P.O.V~

The wind danced with the snowflakes until they became one on the ground. A piercing numb feeling reached my fingertips causing a shiver to trace a finger up my spine. Although the scenery of snow is beautiful, nothing compares to the girl keeping my heart warm. Rubianne clings onto my forearm for warmth and maybe affection. I'm not sure about that last part he thought to himself before his thoughts interrupted from her sudden gasp

"What?" he asked looking over feeling her grasp on him tighten

"Sal! I completely forgot today is Valentines Day!" she exclaimed in excitement as they walked past stores full of mushy valentine displays

"I guess it is" he replied plainly feeling his ears growing numb from the cold

The conversation died down with only the sound of the snow crunching beneath their boots. Their hearts beating against their ribcage ringing in their ears. The cold masking their blush of affection and growing feelings. Of all days we just so happen to bump into each other he groaned embarrassed to be seen with the most gorgeous popular girl in this damn town. Pale breaths against the numbing air escaped their lips when the flaming red-head stopped in tracks suddenly. Sal turned to her as she took a step closer towards him. Gorgeous chocolate eyes held fear in them for the first time as she looked down at her black soot colored boots. "Sal..." she murmured following the frog lodged in her throat from her nerves

"Yeah?" he asked watching the girl he looked at as a goddess fiddle with her fingers

Finally taking a leap of faith, she met his cerulean eyes with determination injected in her veins for the moment. "W-will you be my valentine?" she breathed out her puffy freckled cheeks turning a darker shade of pink

What? he thought staring down at her trying to find a trick of some sort. He didn't find one sign of ill intentions in her coffee bean colored eyes "M-me?" he asked stupidly pointing at himself only to receive a wild nod causing her bright red hair to frail around in the wind

Rose pulled out a tiny card from her pocket with my name on it in big bold letters. I take the small card with my hands shaking from the wind piercing them with daggers. I was speechless, to say the least. I've never had a girl confess anything to me. Let alone ask me to be their valentine. he thought overwhelmed with happiness

Unable to contain his happiness he pulled her into a tight embrace. His face buried in the lava that melted his heart the moment he laid eyes on her. Rose instantly returned my embrace feeling her smile against my neck. Gently lifting my prosthetic she nearly turned to face me but I tightened our embrace "Not yet..." I whispered

Rose listened and didn't move an inch. Her heart slamming against her ribs vibrated through my entire body and it made me smile knowing I had this effect on her. I gently kiss her lower cheek and put my prosthetic on leaning away to see her face as red as a tomato. Her facial expression caused me to chuckle and hold her small hands into mine. "Come on, I think I still owe you a date." I declared giving her a gentle tug

Rubianne was a complete wreck after what happened earlier. She was embarrassed over almost every little thing I did. Whenever she excused herself from the table at her house grew a little clumsy. I didn't know I had a powerful effect over a goddess hotter than the hottest star he thought to himself watching her set the table in front of him. Instead of taking her out to a restaurant, she insisted she makes me dinner. I wasn't going to argue with her considering her parents left us alone so it would be "special"

The table was set beautifully with fine china of porcelain white that celebrated the miracle outside the walls. Bright Baby blue I'm assuming for my long ocean waves on my scalp. Crystal bowl full of assorted winter decor as the centerpiece. Rose set all of the food she made on the table and began dressing my plate as if it were a fancy holiday dinner. When she set the plate back down in front of me, I was in awe. She can actually cook he thought examining the plate. "I hope you like it, Sal, I made it especially for you," she smiled pulling out a bottle of wine

"Red wine?" I question looking back over at her

"I hope you don't mind," she asked afraid he wouldn't like it

"No, I've never had wine. Alcohol sure, but I rarely drink" he answered honestly

Rubianne began to apologize for her selfishness for not asking but, I shook my head disapproving of her apologizing for something she thought would make me happy. The atmosphere was light with a hint of new awkward romance between the two teens. On Sal's plate was a huge rib-eye steak as the show stopper and creamy mashed potatoes and green beans. "It looks amazing." he complimented causing her to blush to beam

The scarlet beauty poured the wine and sat down next to him with a plate of her own waiting to be feasted upon. Delicious isn't the right word to describe the food. Flavors danced in his mouth as if it came from God himself and he found himself complimenting her cooking yet again. "You're some chef in hiding aren't you" he joked causing her to giggle with her hands over her lips trying to silence herself

"Oh please, Sally, it can't be that good." her flushed cheeks never dying down as she began twirling her hair around her fingers

It made him happy that he could bring a smile to her face. The evening went on like this for hours of small talk, jokes, and flirting. The two teens wished this night would never end because a part of them knew that tomorrow would be just another day. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end at the stroke of twelve Sal collected himself not wanting to overstay his warm welcome. Instead of leaving with awkward teasing, and goodbyes, he gifted her a kiss goodnight on her cherry-scented red lips. A night like this will be remembered for the rest of their lives they thought going their separate ways wishing each other one last time "Happy Valentines Day..."
