"Do you want to postpone your study this semester? I will tell the head department if you want to."
Soobin's mother said while waiting for the maid preparing the breakfast.
He was at the dining room now with his parents, having breakfast together again.
The question from his mother made Soobin shocked, "Can I?" He asked with surprised tone, then he gazed his father.
His father was the one who really 'cared' about his study.
"We already talked about this," his father said, "you can postpone your study for one semester or two if you want. You're still young, I can wait for that long."
Soobin was beyond happy because of their attention, "no," he said the opposite, "no, I'll be fine, dad, mom. They will think I used my parents for my greed, just like what they think about me..." Soobin fiddled his fingers.
"I'll be fine, I promise. I just need...one week for resting, can I skip my classes for one week? It's already saturday, just give me the next week." Soobin begged, he didn't need to fill in other people's thought about him being spoiled brat.
He just needed time until Yeonjun's limit.
His father smiled, "of course, that's much better," he said to Soobin but with a soft tone.
"You sure you just need one week? We can-"
"No, mom, please," Soobin gazed to his mother with pleaded eyes, "one week is enough, I just need time for recovering my body, I don't want them to think that I'm a spoiled brat, I am not..."
His mother now with caring looked at him, "of course," then her voice dropped, sounded a little bit sad, "you never been a spoiled kid for us, you never could be like that to us...I'm sorry..."
"Mom," Soobin called, seriously gazing his mother, "stop, maybe I didn't get spoiled but I thank you two for that, there's always a good thing from something, and I didn't regret it."
He sighed, "I am very glad that you two thinking about me, cared for me, but...no, I don't need to postpone my study, mom, dad. I promise I'll be fine, if anything happen I'll let you two know right away," Soobin said reassuring his parents.
After a heavy sigh, his mother nodded defeatedly, "okay, I'll keep your promise, tell us if anything happens to you," his mother said as a final, "I'll be home once a week."
Soobin widened his eyes surprised and excited, "...really?" He said.
"I can't promise you that but I'll try to go along with your mom."
That was his father, said that with a flat and dominating tone, but with a small smile and soft gaze.
Soobin, who just finally got the love and attention from his parents after a long time, got teary with their words and promise. He couldn't hold it anymore.
"Thank you, mom, dad, I'm sorry..." He bowed down, looking at his lap, wiped his tears once, didn't want to look at them broken like this.
"No, dear, we're sorry to not give you the love and attention you deserved. Let us try to fix that, okay?"
Soobin nodded hearing his mother's words, now tears streaming down his face beautifully with a smile on his lips. He was so happy right now,
so happy to the point he didn't want to do suicide anymore.
After that moment, the breakfast was ready to serve. The maid putting the dish on the dining table in front of the little family of Choi, the couple with his only child.
