With a sigh, he set down his pen. Moving the hair from his face. He leaned back in his chair as his eyes scanned the room. Falling on his sleeping bue laying on the couch.

Alastor closed his eyes; in just a few months the year would be coming to an end. And he would be forever mortal. While this life had its perks-not just including Angel-it was also quite boring. He enjoyed being with Angel and honestly hadn't felt this happy in quite a long time.

But these day jobs, they were dull. Going home and doing the same thing nearly every day. That was boring too. It was at times like these...that he craved for his old life.

...When was the last time he'd killed someone?

He couldn't remember.

It had been awhile.

A sharp gasp caused him to open his eyes. He looked back at the couch, finding Angel tossing and turning. Groaning in his sleep. "Stay away...stay away..."

Alastor was out of his seat in seconds, walking over to his sleeping partner. His movements became rougher as he continued to talk in his sleep. Thrashing about. "Anthony wake up-" Alastor grabbed his shoulder, catching the arm that swung at him. "Anthony you're having a nightmare." He nudged him.

His eyes flew open, his body thrashing. Alastor had to apprehend his arms just to keep Angel from slapping him.

"It's alright, you're safe." He tried to soothe as Angel stared at him. Gradually taking in his surroundings. "You're safe.." He relaxed his grip. Removing his hands and perching himself on the edge of the couch.

Angel looked above him, at his partner's expression of concern. His heart still raced in his chest. It began to slow as he calmed. "Sorry...sorry." He laid back against the pillow, relaxing. "I thought I wouldn' have a nightmare if you were in da room."

Alastor caressed his face, "it was only a nightmare." He gently assured. Angel leaned into his touch, closing his eyes. "It will be alright, I'm right here."

"I guess I ain't gunna be sleepin' anymore ta'day." He said with a sigh. Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes.

Alastor's smile faltered; he didn't like seeing Angel like this. His expression looked heavy. His body was slouched and his overall energy was low. When was the last time he was able to sleep soundly? How many sleepless nights had his partner experienced during their time apart?

All this suffering he'd endured; Alastor hated that feeling. To see the man whom he loved with that look on his face.

"What if I sit here whilst you sleep?" He wanted Angel to smile. Not appearing so haggard. Even dark circles were beginning to form under his eyes.

Much to his dismay, Angel shook his head. "Nah, I'll be alrigh'. Least I got'ta sleep for a 'lil bit."

Reluctantly he nodded. "Perhaps you can take this time to choose where you would like to go after work." He figured changing the subject would be beneficial for now. Sure the subject of what Angel's nightmare was about piqued his curiosity. However, he didn't want to cause more trouble for his lover by making him remember it.

Alastor went back to his desk. After all, he was still at work and had things to do. Angel stretched his arms out in an effort to wake himself up. "Still ain't gotta clue." He moved to stand, not wanting to get comfortable and fall asleep. So he settled for pacing the room while Alastor worked. " 'ey I got anotha' question for ya."

The brunette had gone back to taking notes on the file. Given to him by Pentious of course. "You seem to have quite a lot of those lately." But he couldn't blame him.
