I decided to break this into a two-partner because of how long the chapter is and I don't want it to drag on so I divided it. It'll be more comfortable to read like this....and give you guys something to read while I finish part 2....Enjoy!

"It's not even noon yet and there's already a cluster of people out."
Angel chuckled at the comment on the other side of the table, he looked through the window also seeing the crowds of people walking down the sidewalk and traffic. Of course, this was typical but a tad more chaotic than usual.
The diner, filled in its own right, wasn't as bad compared to the outside world.
"This is kinda normal for the time of year," Angel explained listening blissfully to the sound of idle chatter and enjoying the smell of food that carried through the diner. Someone had begun playing something on the jukebox but he wasn't paying much attention to that. "You've neva been here for this time of year?"
Alastor shook his head as he leaned back against the leather of the booth, melting into the warm atmosphere. "No, this is my first time. Although it reminds me of Mardi Gras back home."
                              	Angel looked, curiously, "what's dat?"
"It's a wonderful and rather large celebration much like this. Rambunctious—"
                              	"Uh...?"
"'Wild'" he substituted, "but still very fun. Floats, food, music, and typically masks or beads is what is worn. Although the people in the parades are dressed far more exotically." Alastor explained enthusiastically.
Angel listened intently, his mismatched eyes practically sparkling. "Dat sounds amazin' maybe one day we can visit."
Alastor smiled nervously, "ah...perhaps." Angel chuckled, leaving the brunette to wonder. "What's so funny?"
Angel grinned as he leaned on the table, "just thinkin' how much has happened in a year. I just, I can' believe how much ma life's changed since meetin' you."
Alastor relaxed, fondly looking at Angel. "I think I can say the same about you, my dear."
No, he knew he felt the same, truly things would be drastically different if he hadn't run into Angel that day let alone go after him.
"Is this what you do typically this time of year?"
Angel leaned on his hand, staring out the window. "Nah, I'm usually workin' 'round this time." He said, keeping it vague due to their public location. "Cherri would try an get me out whenever she could. Some years she did otha's she didn'." He shrugged, "just how it goes."
"Well you certainly have the day this year," Alastor noted.
"Yeah, an I'm gonna make da most of it. What bout you? What did you do this time last year?" Angel asked, innocently unaware of what that question held.
Alastor fumbled for an explantion, what could he say..?
"Good morning gentlemen." The sudden presence of a familiar waitress interjected the conversation.
                              	Phew, he was saved.
Angel gave a polite smile to the elder women as she set down two glasses of water for them, "hey Joy, how's ya day treatin' you?" He wasn't sure if he understood or forgave her for keeping those secrets, but he didn't hate her so there was no reason to act as such.
