The Kanto Region

*Ring Ring*

It was as beautiful as any other morning in the small town of Pallet. The sun shone and washed all over the countryside with its bright light. A flock of Pidgeys and Pidgeottos flew past the houses in the clear, cerulean sky. Among the few houses in the area, one stood out. It was a simple double decker house, painted white on the walls and red on the roof top. A small garden surrounded it by an average perimeter, which had a white fence around the house as its boundary. The eye-catching thing was the huge backyard large enough for second house to fit in.

The owner of the house sat up straight, after hearing the alarm. He stopped it from ringing and let out a yawn, stretching his arms in the process. He glanced at the edge of the bed, and saw a yellow creature curled up in a ball and sleeping peacefully. He decided to let it sleep and freshen himself up.

"Wake up Pikachu. Breakfast is ready," said Ash, nudging the electric type with his hand.

He had already taken a quick shower and finished preparing breakfast in the kitchen for him and his pokemon. Pikachu stirred a little and woke up.

"Pika Pi."

"Yes, it's morning already. Now let's finish our breakfast quickly. We promised Professor Oak to meet him in his lab today," said Ash.

"Pikachu Pika pi," the mouse corrected him and started to head downstairs. Ash rolled his eyes.

"Yeah yeah, 'I' promised him. Happy now?" he said sarcastically.

After finishing their food, Ash quickly washed the dishes. He wore his favourite blue and white jacket over his black t-shirt. He was tying his shoelaces when his partner approached.

"Pikapi."

Ash turned around and saw Pikachu dragging a cap by his small mouth. The cap was completely red in color except the white front and similar colored half pokeball design on it.

"I almost forgot it. Thanks Pikachu," Ash said as he put on his favourite cap, before heading outside with the yellow mouse on his shoulder.

Professor Oak's lab was just a few blocks away from his house so, he always walked their on foot. Today was no exception. He always enjoyed walking around his hometown. The environment here always lightens up his mood. He was also very keen to his surroundings.

"It's seems like a good day to me," Ash murmured.

"Pika," Pikachu agreed with its trainer. Suddenly, they heard a screech above them. The duo looked up to see a Spearow circling around. Ash smiled and waved his hand.

"Morning Spearow," he greeted. The bird gave a happy cry and flew away just as quickly as it appeared. He knew almost every pokemon here in Pallet town. He grew up interacting with them most of the time and developed the abilty to understand them to a great extent.

Ash Ketchum was sixteen years old. After he was born, his parents had passed away in a very tragic accident. He couldn't remember much, but he was sent to an orphanage afterwards and was nourished there.

Since he was little, he had a huge interest in the world of Pokemon. He loved to see the young and adult trainers battle against each other with their pokemons. When he was six, he was often sent away for many errands. During that time, he used to observe each and every pokemon around him carefully. He always wanted the plushies that were sold in the stores, but couldn't afford it due to financial lackings. He often dreamed about being the world's strongest trainer and ranted about it to his playmates. But everyone just made fun of him and even ridiculed him, claiming his dream as a joke. He was always upset about it, but still never lost sight of that dream.
After turning nine, he started to look for a small part time work or job around Kanto. Many people shooed him away seeing his young age, while some thought he was incompetent just because he was an orphan. Until he came across Professor Samuel Oak.
