Chapter 22

Y/N POV

I can hear my own heart racing. I'm just picking up Anna why is this so hard. Just don't cry and you'll be fine. I knock on the door and mama Shumate answered the door with a smile

"Hi mama! I'm here to pick Anna!" I said confidently just as I said that I saw something move on the stairs. I look up and see the girl I want to marry coming down the stairs. Here come the tears. I can feel my eyes start to burn and heart flutter

"Y-you look absolutely stunning bubba." I said which was hard because of the big lump in my throat. My tears started to fall as she got closer and I saw just how beautiful she was "I could say the same about you" she said as she wiped my tears

I just stood staring at her for a minute until I heard father Matt clear his throat "Y/N/N the corsage." He said with a whisper

"Oh yeah that's right. I-it's I thought it went with your eyes.. I should've went off of the color we were wearing...sorry." Apologizing as I started to put the corsage on her wrist

"Don't be sorry babe, it's absolutely gorgeous. Thank you" she smiled "And bro stop looking at me like that." She continued with

"I'm sorry I can't help it. You're all mine." I said energetically. "Y/N hun of you say sorry one more time I'm going to slap you" mama Shumate said

"Sor- ok anyway! Everyone's waiting for us you ready?" I asked and she bit her lip and nodded. We said our goodbyes to Anna's parents and headed to the school. I'm so nervous about singing tonight, but it's all worth it, for her.

Once we pull up and the whole gang gets out we walk inside. Everyone stops to look at us. Yeah damn right we all look hot. "Wow bub you did a good job helping it all looks great"

"Huh? What are yo- ohhh yeah! I-I mean it's great? It's amazing" good save Y/N. All my friends looked at me like I was an idiot. Shoot Ms. James I should go over to her before she comes over and blows my cover "Hey guys there's my music teacher I'm gonna go say hi. You know how much I love her." I mean I didn't lie I loved Ms. James but I just needed to know when I was going on the stage

"Oh hi Y/N" she said as I approached her "Hi ma'am! I was wondering when I needed to head on stage?" She snapped her fingers as if she had an idea. Why would she need an idea "it's whenever you want. Do you want to go before the actual band, in the middle, or at the end." I thought about what she asked then I realized

"The middle would be great." That way I get my time to relax then sing then I can get all the loving from my girl after...that is if she even likes it. She said she'd tell the band and left. I walked to my group that was now at the door of the gymnasium "let's go take pictures and then we can go dance" O'Conner one of the boys in our gangs. He doesn't like his first name so everyone calls him O'Conner. I mean I'm not complaining I like it.

We took a bunch of pictures in the photo booth and now we were all dancing on the floor. Once this song is over I have to be up there and singing to all these people. I'll be singing to Anna.

Once the song was over everyone clapped and Ms.James got up on stage "Good evening Bridge Valley High! I have a special performance for you all tonight! Y/N? Y/N can you come up stage"

"That's my cue." I kissed Anna who was very confused. I ran upstage and and took the mic thanking Ms.James

"What's up everyone!?" Everyone was hooting and hollering. I continued once they quoted down "As many of you might not know, I have a passion for singing. I also have a passion for writing music. So! With that being said I wrote a thing or two....or three. Sorry Ms. James I lied" she waved me off like it was no biggie

"I wrote these songs for my beautiful girlfriend that she has no idea about. Anna I love you so much and I'll never stop. You make me so happy. I try to express it to you everyday, but I feel like if I sing it to you it'll be easier for me to tell you just how amazing you are. This took me like a shit ton of time and hard work... sorry for my language." I said with a laugh

"I'm sorry I lied to you bubba about where I've been, but I've been working on these songs and practice them with the band...all for you. I'm gonna start off with a slower song I made. Called Meet Me In Amsterdam. I made this song about just being with her and how we want to visit Amsterdam when we grow old together. I then follow it up with Say You Won't Let Go which is exactly how it sounds. I don't ever want to be apart from her. She's the love of my life. And then to come after that I was thinking a little faster song called Fresh Eyes which is just seeing Anna through new eyes everytime I see her do something that just makes me fall even harder and seeing stuff she does I didn't even know she could do. Anna I really do love you with every bone in my body." I stared at Anna the whole time during my little speech. She had tears pouring down her face already surrounded by our friends trying to comfort her a little bit.

I turned to the band "Yall ready? Yes or yes?" They all laughed and nodded "let's do this then!" With that the music started and my eyes were glued on Anna
