Patton could see that Logan wasn’t feeling the absolute best that day. He failed to take interest in things he normally loved, like reading, and whenever Patton tried to talk with him, Logan seemed tired and lacked the energy to hold up the conversation. It was very out of character of him.

So Patton decided to do something. If Logan was feeling down, he would do anything and everything to lift his spirits again, and luckily, he knew just how to do so.

Astronomy was one of Logan’s favourite subjects to study and talk about and whenever he did discuss it, Patton was always immersed in his lectures and genuinely loved to listen to every word the logical side said. The way Logan talked made Patton’s little heart flutter and he loved how wide Logan’s range was when using elaborate vocabulary.

Most of the time, Patton was able to learn a thing or two too. For example, one night a couple months ago, Logan introduced Patton to some of the constellations of the stars, such as orion, serpens, cassiopeia and the other 12 common constellations named after the zodiac signs.

Patton absolutely adored stargazing with Logan. They didn’t do it often, but the times they did Patton completely cherished. It was strange because, since they were together, they were kinda obliged to go on dates. But, just like the real world, the two had responsibilities and, believe it or not, they actually rarely had time to spend alone with each other, due to how Thomas’ mind was constantly whirring and jam-packed with ideas and more.

However, tonight would be different. Tonight, he would put all responsibilities aside for Logan and that night would be solely just for them. It wouldn’t affect Thomas anyway, since Patton was planning to have their ‘special moment’ together while their host was asleep.

And so, nightfall soon dawned in the real world and then additionally in Thomas’ mind. As the other sides bid each other goodnight, Patton made his way over to Logan’s room then gently knocked on the door.

A quiet “come in” came from inside, allowing Patton to open it and as he walked into the room, he found his lovely Logan sat by his desk, endlessly writing away in his notepad with his eyes and eyebrows furrowed and focused. Logan looked to the side for a minute to glance at the moral side approaching him.

“Good evening Patton,” Logan greeted, holding back a smile, though he didn’t exactly know why. It wasn’t like he didn’t want his boyfriend to know that he was ecstatic at the fact that he had come to visit him at this late hour despite Logan unintentionally ignoring him that day and mistakenly making no effort to speak with him even though he had missed Patton dearly.

Maybe it was just his concentration on the work making him act this way.

“Good evening,” Patton replied softly, wrapping his arms around Logan’s neck from behind and leaning down to rest his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder. The two sides stayed in that position for a few moments. Patton closed his eyes peacefully as he listened to the scribbling sound of Logan’s pencil on paper.

Patton honestly wouldn’t have minded remaining like that for the rest of the night; it was undeniably very comfortable and the fabric of Logan’s onesie was wonderfully fluffy and cushy, like a cloud, but then the downside of them staying that way was that Logan would be up all night working - which he did way too often for his own good - and Patton definitely didn’t want that.

The last time Logan overworked himself, it took a while for him to recover, affecting Thomas as well as the rest of the sides, and not only that, it damaged Thomas’ “mental health”, basically meaning that a number of wounds and cuts appeared on Logan since he was literally Thomas’ mind and all.
