-Feyre's POV-

Aelin's court and friends surprised me, the white-haired woman, Manon, her power was great, and it rippled off her just like Amren's did, it was unnerving.

"That, is a very good question and one that I don't know the answer to."

"You don't know who you are?" Manon sneered at me.

"My name is Feyre, and I am High Lady of the Night Court, I fell through a portal and now I am here, is that the response you were looking for?" I smiled sweetly at her, she snarled at me.

I folded my arms over my chest, my wings a welcome weight behind my back. I didn't know what was going on, but this seemed to be everyone I needed to know about. I scanned the group, wondering why I was here, I didn't fall though a bridge in the middle of my city of no reason.

Something scraped against my mental shields, a single talon asking permission to enter, I opened a tiny chamber in my wall, not letting them into my actual mind, I thought it might be Rhys, until.

A hissing voice asked if I remembered them. Pain tore through my head and I let out a scream, falling to my knees. I had a vague feeling of hands gripping my shoulders but that voice in my head, it was Hybern's but not, more sinister somehow. He told me that I was going to do as he said, I tried to push him out, but I couldn't, he gave me one order, kill. I couldn't. I wouldn't. I forced myself to breath. I looked to see Yrene knelt in front of me.

"Knock me out, right now." Her eyes went wide. I said it again.

"I can't, your mind is too guarded."

Pain lashed through my mind again and I let out another scream. Aelin pulled Yrene away and Rowan's boots appeared in my vision, I could feel Hybern begin to take control. I said it again, I couldn't hurt them.

"I'm sorry."

I looked up to meet Rowan's eyes as the air around me vanish. I could feel Hybern thrash in my mind as my body fort for a breath. Oblivion swept in before my power unleashed itself.

-Aelin's POV-

When Feyre screamed I knew something was very wrong, that was the sound of someone in agony, yet she was standing alone. She dropped to her knees, clawing at her head.

Yrene was instantly there, white light flaring around her. When Feyre gave the order to knock her out, I understood, this is what I looked like that day when the King of Adarlan wormed into my mind, my mother knocked me out. I shot Rowan a look.

'You need to do it.'

'I can't.' He shot back.

'You have to, it's the only way.'

'She is terrified of my wind, I won't do that to her, you must have noticed her face when she told us about Tamlin locking her away.'

When she begged Yrene again he stepped forwards. I gripped Yrene's shoulders and pulled her back as Feyre screamed again. Rowan stopped in front of her, and she looked up, nothing but terror in her face.

"I'm sorry," Then he took her air.

I could have sworn she gave him a grateful look before she fell to the grass, her wings now limp behind her.

I went to her side and lifted her up, pulling her limp body against me. A thunderclap sounded from behind Rowan, like two boulders had been thrown together.

A male roar filled the garden and a man, clad in black, was running towards me. He pushed me away from Feyre and cradled her again him, whispering her name. Rhysand, the name clashed through me. The male in front of me was her mate.
