-Rhysand's POV-

Feyre was shaking under my hand, I heard her replying to whatever she had found, her voice was shaky though, like what is was saying scared her.

"Feyre, Feyre let go, open your hands."

She shook harder, her power was building beneath her skin and I couldn't stop it. I knew she was going to erupt.

"Shield yourselves, now."

"What!" It was Aelin that spoke.

"Shit."

It was all I got out before Feyre's power crashed through the room, I just about managed to throw a shield around everyone in time.

"Feyre, Talk to me."

The darkness cleared and I saw that she was standing, darkness curling around her. Her eyes were black and unseeing.

"Prepare to burn." It wasn't her voice that filled the room.

I didn't know what to do, I knew she was still there, the bond was tight and filled with pain, I knew that she was a threat though, I couldn't believe I was doing this to her again.

"Rowan, you need to do it again."

He looked at me for a little while, as if unsure but then he turned back to her and I could feel the wall of air slip around her. She thrashed, clawing at her throat before slumping on the floor.

Tears were running down Mor's face, Cassian looked pissed and Azriel was writhed in shadow. I walked over to my once again, unconscious mate.

Aelin appeared beside me, a hand on my shoulder.

"We will get her back, once we kill the main source of the power their grip on her will go, she will be ok."

"But we don't know where to begin."

"Yes, we do, she did it, before they took her over."

It was Amren that spoke, staring at the map, there was a tight ring of stones around a name on the map. Morath.

-Aelin's POV-

Morath.

The place was still in ruin, nobody had bothered to clear up the rubble and now the valg were back. As if he could read my thoughts Rowan appeared beside me, pulling me against him. I took charge, Rhysand was in no position to.

"Right, this is what we are going to do, Yrene and Dorian, you will be vital, only you have the powers to kill this thing, the plan needs to be different though, the valg won't fall for the same trick twice."

"Can someone please fill me in" it was Rhysand that spoke, still staring at his unconscious mate.

"Nine months ago, we fort a war against creatures called the valg, they fear fire and the healing gift, I was once known as Aelin of The Wildfire, I could have burned the who world to the ground, but I had to give up the vast majority of my power to banish the gods that refused to help. I can't kill these things now, only Dorian and Yrene can. We defeated their king, Erawan, by tricking him to come away from the battle, Yrene used her gifts to kill him, the rest of his army fell as soon as he died, if we kill this Hybern valg combination, Feyre will be free of his control, Yrene will need to work inside her mind and erase the traces of it, but she won't be trying to kill you."

Rhysand looked hopeful.

"Let's go kill this bastard."

Mor was already wearing an outfit suitable for fitting in, the two winged males tapped the gems on their hands and scaled armour quickly covered their bodies. Rhysand shrouded himself in shadow, when he reappeared, he was in the same clothes as the other males in his court.

"I'm afraid it is going to take us a little longer to change."

"Speak for yourself." Lysandra snorted before shifting into a snow leopard.

Mor grinned at her and Lysandra let out a purr in response. I shook my head as Rowan and Fenrys shifted in a flash of light and became a hawk and wolf respectively, I lifted an arm for Rowan to land on as I said he couldn't fight valg as a hawk, he nipped at my ear before jumping off my arm and shifting back, now in his armour.

"Since when could you do that!" He just smirked at me.

"Am I really the only one without a cool trick?" I was a little exasperated, the members of my court did love their dramatics.

"I'm staying." I looked towards Elide.

"Good, we can't just leave Feyre here alone." I surveyed the rest of the people gathered

"Chaol you are staying too." He began to protest but I cut him off.

"You can barely stand as it is, with Yrene needing to use a vast majority of her power to kill this thing you definitely won't be standing by the end of it, I don't feel like carrying you back."

He looked furious but clapped his lips shut and didn't argue.

"Aedion, you as well, no protesting about this either, you will not sway me."

He glared at me for a minutes before huffing and sitting down.

"Lorcan, need to do anything before we go?"

He crossed his arms.

"I can't believe you just asked me that, I am covered in steel and wearing my armour like always."

"Just checking, Manon, I know better than to ask if you are ready, Asterin, or Amren, whatever you want me to call you, what power do you still possess?"

"Enough to help, I have fort these things before, don't you dare ask me to stay behind, and either name is fine."

"Right, I guess I will just go and change as I don't have any tricks up my sleeve, and I don't feel like fighting in a ballgown."

-Rhysand's POV-

Aelin walked out of the throne room with Rowan, I turned to Elide.

"Please look after her."

Her eyes softened.

"She is going to be ok Lord, I know."

"How, how can you possibly know, even I don't know that."

"I spent years in Morath, my uncle kept me prisoner there, I saw the horrors, the torture."

A shudder at that.

"Yes, there was a lot of bad and I can't tell you that your mate isn't hurting but while I was there, I saw people who overcame the valg. One woman, Katlin, she was implanted with a Wyrdkey, a valg prince infiltrated her body but she fort back, she killed the demon inside her and saved my life. Feyre is strong, she told us her story so I know she will fight back, so I can tell you with certainty that she is going to be ok, maybe not right this second, but she will be."

before I realised what I was doing I walked over to the woman and pulled her against me, she was shaking.

'Thank you.' I whispered into her mind.

'It is ok Lord,' was all she replied.

I took a step back and gave her a small smile.

Aelin re-appeared and declared that she was ready to go. I asked if we were just going to leave Feyre on the floor.

"I'm sorry but it is too dangerous to move her or touch her at all until the demon controlling her is killed."

Yrene spoke up, I dipped my chin slightly, looking down at my mate one last time before everyone joined hands/ paws and I winnowed us all to the place on the map.
