It was late into the evening when Peridot finally set foot into her shared little homeschool "dorm" with Lapis. She was tired and worn out from another long day teaching uneducated gems on earth.

"Hey, Peri, how are you?" The familiar voice echoed across the room.

"Ehh... tired." Peridot responded, suppressing a loud yawn.

Lapis came from around the corner, her dark blue hair in messy ruffles and her eyes glittering with warmth. "Do you wanna go to bed then? It's almost night after all."

Peridot shook her head. "No can do, I've got a project I need to complete." The weary gem finished, giving Lapis a slow, exhausted blink. The blue water gem smirked in response, a sly smile spreading across her face.

"Oh no-"

Peridot had no time to react before Lapis rushed forward and scooped her into her arms, hugging her close as she began to make her way towards the hammock. "No, no, no! Put me down you clod!" Peridot squeaked in response, squirming out of her grip and making a run for the door, but once again, Lapis was quicker, snatching her up by the scruff of her shirt and dragging her back.

"You're my prisoner now." Lapis giggled, nuzzling Peridot's cheek. "Am not!" The green gem protested, trying to kick her way out of her grip again but failing miserably. Lapis snorted. "And I'm never letting you go!" With that, Lapis carried a still fighting Peridot over to the hammock and set Peridot down, quickly clambering in besides her and hooking her torso with an arm to prevent her escape attempt.

"Lazuli, let me go!" Peridot grunted as she writhed in her grip, clawing at the edge of the hammock in hopes of dragging herself out. "Nope!" Lapis responded playfully, leaning forward and delivering a soft kiss on her nose.

"Don't even start." Peridot felt herself hiss as she predicted the blue gem's next move. Lapis chuckled and leaned in for her second move; a little peck on the cheek before giving another one on the corner of her mouth, then on her gem, then her nose.

"Ok, ok! You win!" Peridot grumbled and accepted her fate, leaning her head into her shoulder with an exhausted sigh. "That's better." Lapis cooed, happy her little plan had worked nicely. It didn't take long before Peridot felt the weight of her drowsiness grow, letting out an exasperated yawn as she nestled into Lapis' chest, starting to purr.

Lapis looked down at her small partner and smiled, planting another quick, gentle kiss to her gem. Peridot squeaked and nestled closer, and soon the both of them were lost in the trance of sleep.

A/N: this was just a quick little tooth-rotting fluff Drabble I did kinda late at night. Very messy and short.
