Millie sits behind Ginny as she listens to the teacher ramble on, but her focus remains on the dark-haired girl in front of her. Ginny asks to go to the bathroom before she gets up, Millie's gaze following her. Suddenly, Ginny trips, her tampon falling and landing on Hunter, making Grace giggle from next to Millie. "Can I be excused?" Millie asks, looking at Gitten as Ginny walks out of class. "Fine," he says as she gets up before heading out the door.
"That was brutal," she calls after Ginny, who rolls her eyes, heading into the girls' bathroom. "God, I don't even want to think about it," Ginny pushes her hair back, heading into the first stall. "Oh no, I can't believe you dropped your tampon on hot Hunter," Millie jokes. "Don't call him that," Ginny sasses from behind the door as Millie pushes it open. "Isn't that what you call him?" She looks down at Ginny who rolls her eyes again. "God, you keep rolling your eyes, maybe I should give you a good reason to do it," Millie smirks, falling down on her knees.
After a while, she returns to class licking her plump red lips. "What did you do?" Grace asks as Millie sits down next to her. Millie faces her with a smirk as Grace covers her face.
"Seriously, what happened?" Flynn whispers, leaning in. Millie just shrugs, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
The bell rings, signaling the end of the class. As they gather their things, Ginny walks in, her face flushed but composed. She shoots Millie a look that makes her stomach flutter.
"Everything okay?" Flynn asks Ginny, trying to read her expression.
"Yeah, everything's fine," Ginny says, her voice steady but her eyes betraying a hint of something more.
They head out into the hallway, the bustle of students surrounding them. Hunter passes by, shooting a glare at Ginny, who pointedly ignores him. Millie catches his eye and raises an eyebrow, daring him to say something. He scoffs and walks away.
"Guess he's not so hot now, huh?" Millie murmurs to Ginny, who laughs despite herself.
"You're impossible," Ginny says, shaking her head, but there's a smile playing at her lips.
As they walk towards the cafeteria, Flynn and Grace fall into step behind them, chatting about their next class. Millie feels Ginny's hand brush against hers, a brief but deliberate touch. She glances at Ginny, who looks straight ahead, but there's a small, secretive smile on her face.
In the cafeteria, they find a table and sit down, the conversation flowing easily. Millie watches Ginny, her heart beating a little faster, knowing that whatever they are, it's something worth exploring.
"By the way," Ginny says, looking at Millie, "thanks for coming after me."
"Anytime," Millie replies, feeling a warmth spread through her chest.
As they eat, planning their study group and making jokes, Millie feels a sense of belonging she hasn't felt in a long time. And when Ginny's hand finds hers under the table, she squeezes it gently, knowing they're in this together.
