Millie lays on her bed as Flynn and Grace lay next to her, each of them disgusted by what's happening on the screen in front of them. They were watching *50 Shades of Grey*.
"When is someone gonna get spanked?" Flynn asks as the girls laugh before Grace pauses the movie.
"Guys, I have news," Grace says as they face her. "My parents and I are going away for the weekend," she explains as Millie blinks at her feet in horror.
"You're leaving me alone with him," she says, pointing at Flynn, who smiles.
"Sadly," Grace says, nodding.
"I'm offended. Plus, we could go to Brodie's party," Flynn explains.
"I really wanted to go to the new art gallery that opened up," Millie says as she looks at the TV screen.
"We can go to the art gallery and then we can go to the party," Flynn says as Millie nods before Grace unpauses the TV.
As the movie continues, Flynn shifts to get more comfortable, bumping into Millie. "Sorry," he mutters, making Millie roll her eyes good-natured.
"Maybe we'll get some culture before we drown in Brodie's questionable punch," Millie jokes, causing Flynn to laugh.
"Sounds like a plan," Grace agrees. "Besides, I think it'll be good for all of us to do something different."
After the movie ends, they lay there in silence for a moment, the awkwardness of the film lingering in the air. Flynn breaks the silence, saying, "That was... an experience."
Millie laughs. "Yeah, let's not do that again."
Grace giggles. "Agreed. So, Millie, any plans for tonight? Or just staying in?"
"Actually, I was thinking about seeing Ginny," Millie says, her tone casual but her eyes flicking to Flynn, who smirks knowingly.
"Ooh, someone's got a date," Flynn teases.
"It's not a date," Millie insists, though a small smile tugs at her lips.
"Sure, sure," Flynn says, nudging her. "Just two people hanging out... alone... with history."
"Shut up," Millie says, but she's laughing.
Grace smiles, looking between them. "Well, whatever it is, have fun. And text us if you need backup."
"Will do," Millie says, feeling a warmth in her chest. Having Flynn and Grace in her corner makes everything a little easier.
As they start to gather their things, Flynn asks, "So, art gallery at noon tomorrow, then party at Brodie's after?"
"Yep," Millie confirms. "And who knows, maybe we'll find some actual culture before the chaos."
"Let's hope so," Grace says with a grin.
After they leave, Millie takes a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. She glances at the clock, then grabs her phone to text Ginny.
Millie: Hey, you free tonight?
A few moments later, her phone buzzes with a reply.
Ginny: Yeah, what's up?
Millie: Wanna hang out?
Ginny: Sure. Your place or mine?
Millie: Yours. Be there in 10.
Millie grabs her jacket and heads out, her heart racing with anticipation. As she approaches Ginny's house, she can't help but smile, knowing that whatever happens, she's surrounded by people who care about her. And maybe, just maybe, things are starting to fall into place.
