Chapter 39

|8:05 p.m.|

'Jimin would be here any minute now' Taehyung thought as he rushed to stand in front of the restaurant door. Jungkook and Y/N hid in the staff room. As requested, the restaurant was empty, even the owner wasn't there. But, also as requested, every table in the fancy hall was made up. When Jimin enters, he should think that the restaurant simply does not have customers yet, not that the place was completely devoid of people. 

Taehyung calmed his breathing and pounding heart as he took a casual posture, not wanting to make Jimin suspicious. Then, he saw the blonde man walking towards him. As expected, he was alone, without his 'girlfriend'. A volcano of fury erupted inside Taehyung as he thought about how this pathetic man claimed his girlfriend to be his own, how he must have hurt the two most important people in his life. But that angry lava cooled down immediately, not wanting to give away the plan.

Jimin nervously smiled and waved as he saw Taehyung at the gate. He scratched his head as he approached the taller boy, knowing that the other would've already noticed how he was alone. But exhaled a sigh of relief when he did not see Y/N standing with him either. 

"Hey man" Jimin said as he fist bumped Taehyung.

Taehyung pretended to look around as he asked, "You didn't bring your girlfriend? I thought we were having a double date?" 

"Yeah uh, she was uh busy today. She's actually with her parents" Jimin stuttered as he licked his lips out of nervousness. 

Internally, Taehyung felt like punching his face, which he may do later anyway, but externally he had to stay calm, had to pretend to buy Jimin's bullshit.

"Okay, no worries. I hope you don't mind third wheeling then. My girlfriend is very much with me"

"Oh" Jimin gulped as he followed Taehyung inside.

"We're... alone?" He asked as he looked around.

"Yeah, this place doesn't serve customers up until late. The owner is my buddy so he let us sit in here in peace"

"Oh" Jimin repeated again, more anxious now. He cursed at himself for even agreeing to come here. He thought of excuses to leave, but he knew they wouldn't be of help. He knew something was up, his sixth sense screamed at him. But, he walked anyway, praying to God for everything to be fine. But God doesn't assist terrible people, God was on someone else's side today.

As Jimin sat on the table opposite Taehyung, his mind flashed of all the things he had done to Taehyung, Y/N and his own brother, Jungkook. A sense of regret arose within him and he gulped, unaware of what followed. 

"Where's your girlfriend Tae?" Jimin asked.

Taehyung mentally winced at the informal nickname. He hated hearing Jimin call him something his loved ones did. But, he smiled as he spoke, "Oh, she's in the washroom"

This sentence was a part of the plan. In this empty hall, sound easily bounced off the walls and echoed. Y/N was instructed to uncover herself as soon as she heard this phrase. Soon, this act of friendship was going to come to an end and the real confrontation would begin. The door had been secretly locked by Taehyung and the blinds had been shut, so no passerby could peep inside and so Jimin had no escape. 

Y/N took a deep breath as Jungkook nodded at her and held her hand for reassurance. She smiled back at him as she quietly opened the door and started walking towards the table. Jimin's back was towards her therefore, he couldn't see her coming. He was looking down as Taehyung gave a curt nod to Y/N. Y/N repeated the action. 

In her sweet, normal voice, she approached the table and sat down next to Taehyung, "Hey Tae, I see your friend is here"

Jimin looked up with wide eyes as he recognized the familiar voice, one he truly did love once. He looked behind, trying to hide his face with frantic actions, but had no choice but to look at her when Taehyung spoke, "Y/N, this is Park Jimin, I'm sure you know him already and Jimin, this is my girlfriend, Lee Y/N" When Taehyung said, 'my girlfriend', Jimin heard an angry tone in his voice, like a growl of hatred, almost animalistic and possessive, making sure he screws that into Jimin's brain. The girl was his, his girlfriend, his lover.
