Beach day part 2

I opened my eyes. I was greeted by the blue sky and the coarse sand on my skin, what happened? Oh yes, the giant wave. The last thing I remember was grabbing Kari and holding her close, then it when black. I sat up and look around. My brother, Tai and Jim must have washed up somewhere else because the only person I saw was kari. I got up and ran over to her in a hurry
"Kari!" I shouted "KARI WAKE UP!"
With still no response from kari I knew what I had to do, I had to check the pulse. I put two fingers to Kari's neck. Pulse, thank god! I picked her up bridal style and carried her to a more sheltered area well I got some fire wood.
Eventually it had gotten dark and I had a fire going, Kari however hadn't woken up yet. I was in deep though thinking about my brother and the others, where could they have gone? What island was this? But my silence thoughts were soon interrupted by a small weak voice.
"Tk?" Kari said "What happened?"
"Kari!" I said relieved "How do you feel?"
"I think i'm okay" Kari said looking around
"After that wave we washed up on this island, you haven't woken up until now" I said as I rubbed the back of my head "I was getting kinda worried"
"Don't worry about me Teeks" Kari said with a smile "i'll be okay"
"Good to hear" I said "But you know i'll always worry about you kar"
She giggled cutely then brushed her brunette hair behind her ear.
"What happened to the others?" Kari said
"I wish I knew, I looked around the beach and didn't see anyone" I said looking at the ground.
Kari looked sad. She probably thinking about her brother, she was worried for his safety.
"He's going to be okay" I smiled at her "He's with Jim, he's like a doctor!"
"I hope so" Kari said putting on a fake smile
"He's probably worried about you too" I said as I made my way over to her.
She looked up at me as I sat down beside her. She rapped her arms around my shoulders and put her head on my shoulders
"Don't worry, you've got me" I said a bit cocky
"Yea, Tk the writer is going to save the day" Kari joked "Did you bring a typewriter?"
Well I definitely got way too confident, that's a tad embarrassing for me. If my brother was here he would definitely be making fun of me. Maybe it's for the best there not here.
"Sorry that was a joke" Kari said "I'm glad you're here with me"
"Really?" I said "I always thought you liked Davis"
She laughed still rapped around my shoulders
"Davis?" Kari said in disbelief "Why on earth would I date a more annoying version of my brother?"
"Wait so you don't like davis?" I said
"Of course I don't, don't be silly!" Kari said
She look at me with her big brown eyes as my blue eyes stares back into hers. Her face slowly comes closer to mine, her lips slowly approaching mine. I rapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer. She straddled me as our lips finally met. The fire roared in the pitch black of night, maybe she didn't like davis after all.
