AU where L and Light go to college together and Light asks L to do him a favour.

L sat on his bed reading his textbook and doing his homework. It was peaceful in the dorm right now. He was by himself, and he usually found himself becoming distracted by his roommate. His stupid, annoying, irritating, roommate who always got on his nerves. To be fair, L got on his roommate's nerves too. L found too much amusement in seeing the annoyed expressions of his roommate.

But every now and then his roommate would get his revenge and start to irritate L as well. Teasing him, taking away his sweets, tying with him in class for having the best scores. God he's infuriating. L thought to himself.

But now, L was alone and his roommate was who knows where. L didn't care. He was alone, in peace and quiet. Without his pesky roommate.

L sighed contently and closed his textbook. He finished his homework, and thought about studying for his criminal psychology exam the next week, but he already knew all the material anyways so he figured he didn't need to.

L leant back on his bed closing his eyes, with a grin on his face. He was enjoying the fact that he had the dorm all to himself. L managed to get a few minutes of relaxation and privacy, until-

"Date me"

L slowly opened his eyes one at a time and looked in the direction of the doorway, where his roommate was leaning against the door.

L raised an unimpressed brow and crossed his arms. "Why the hell would I do that Yagami?"

Light Yagami. L's extremely handsome and intelligent roommate who had many girls (and sometimes guys) drooling at his feet. One quick charming glance at anyone, and they were putty in Light's hands.

L didn't see the appeal. All he saw was an infuriating, cocky, competitive asshole. It's not like he was any better though. He could be just as infuriating and competitive as Light.

They tied for having the top score for entering To-Oh, and they were both captains of the tennis team because the coach thought that they were both "Too good not to be captain so they should just lead the team together". They both thought it was ridiculous.

"Because," Light sighed, dropping his bag on the floor and falling on L's bed.

"I didn't give you permission to go on my bed."

"I didn't ask for permission."

"If I remember correctly, your bed is on that side of the room Light." L pointed to the other side of the room that belonged to Light.

Their sides of the dorm looked quite different. Light's side was very neat and clean. His bed was always made and everything on his desk was perfectly organized. From his Dell computer to his mechanical pencils, everything was always in its place.

L's side of the room was the exact opposite. His desk was filled with textbooks covering his Apple laptop, crumbs of sweets he ate were never cleaned up, and wrinkled candy wrappers littered his desk and floor. Light thought that the garbage on the floor and crumbs on L's desk was absolutely disgusting, and he asked L to clean it up in the past. He never listened.

The only thing that L and Light's side of the dorm had in common was their beds. Both of their beds were always made. L basically never slept, and when he did it was when he fell asleep at his desk on his chair.

"I know my side of the dorm is on that side. I'm only here because I need to talk to you."

"You can talk to me on your side of the room."
