(A/N - Haiiii 😄💕 soooo sorry about the ages long wait for an update - my wifi was down for legit a week so it set me way back on fanfic and book work 😓 I'll try to make up for it as much as I can 😅😊 enjoy!)
It was early afternoon in Neverland, and Elena and Henry were outside already, their train of thoughts so different from one another as they sat in comfortable silence. Peter and Felix were nowhere to be seen - out on some 'business' or whatever they were doing. Henry was tracing a pattern, or maybe some sort of map, in the dry, brown forest ground in front of him with a stick, Elena still thinking about some sort of life in Neverland; that was, if Emma and the others really weren't coming to find them. It had been days at this point. But Neverland and its boys didn't seem so bad - and neither did their leader, Peter Pan. Why was everyone so afraid of him? Apart from the uncertain encounter with Neil, where Pan had taken Henry and herself back, there wasn't any clear sign of deception. Not yet, anyway.
A sharp prod at Henry and Elena's backs shook them from their thoughts in an instant, and they looked around to see Devin, looking at them both, expressionless. Elena's brows furrowed.
"I don't want to fight again, okay?" Henry told him as they stood up.
"I didn't come to fight," Devin said, putting his spear away, "I came to deliver a message."
"A message," Elena repeated, "what message?"
Devin pushed them both back from the others' view, lowering his voice. "Your family," he continued, "is here."
Elena's eyes widened, as did Henry's. "What?"
"On the island, trying to find you," Devin told them.
"You... you're making this up," Henry stuttered in disbelief, "'cus I cut your cheek - you're trying to get back at me-"
"I'm not making it up," Devin insisted, his voice still monotonous as he took something from his pocket and gave it to Elena. "Look."
Elena looked down at the object to see a small, round mirror - and to her astonishment, Emma, Regina and Snow all staring back at her. She gasped, and Henry looked too, shocked.
"Henry! Elena!"
"Henry, are you okay?"
"Elena! Thank goodness! Are you two alright?"
"Th-this is a trick," Henry mumbled, but Emma immediately differed.
"No! No, it's not a trick! I promise you, this is real. Kid, it's Operation Cobra rescue - it's us!"
"You're here?!" Elena finally said, "Emma, where are you? I was starting to lose hope-"
"We're coming to get you, Elena," Emma assured her with a grin, before Regina came closer to the mirror.
"Elena, you need to know that Pan isn't a good person," Regina told her, as Henry glanced about the camp as a lookout, "he's trying to keep you two from us - and whatever he's planning, it's dangerous. You've got to believe me - he's not who you think he is."
Elena let out a shaky breath, as Emma and Snow nodded in agreement. Henry grabbed Elena's shoulder in alarm, diverting her attention.
"Someone's coming... it's Pan!"
"We've got to go," Elena said quickly.
"We love you!" Regina called to Henry.
"Elena, stay sharp!" Snow said.
"We'll see you soon!"
Elena smiled briefly before dropping the looking glass, out of sight near a bush as it cracked, disconnecting them from the others. The two's gazes landed on Pan, advancing toward the camp without the slightest hint of secrecy, the smallest look of deception. Pretty villains are all too common... and for Elena, was the infamous Neverland leader in front of her, rounding up Lost Boys for training and tasks without a care. Henry shook his head and went to sit elsewhere, and Elena sighed, wandering off away from the camp and to the jungles that surrounded it.
