“Let us all welcome, the newly weds, Bernadette and Stefan!”

Then a familiar music was played.

“Remember that song, Babe?”

Stefan asked Bernadette.

“Yeah.”

Stefan kissed his bride lightly on the lips.

"See I told you it was fate." 

He whispered.

FLASHBACK ON CHLOE AND MICHAEL’S WEDDING DAY

Everybody was on the dance floor, while Bernadette was sipping a red wine. Suddenly somebody tapped her shoulder, she looked around but to her dismay it was another guy asking her to dance.

“Do you want to dance?” the tall, dark and handsome man asked.

Her eyes wandered, searching for somebody.

She looked at the other table right beside theirs only to see Stefan playing with his ipAd.

She glanced back at the man and took his hand as they head to the dance floor.

They started to dance.

“By the way, miss, I forgot to introduce my name. I’m Matteo.”

Said the man dancing with Bernadette.

“Oh, Bernadette is the name.”

Bernadette answered.

Again, her eyes searched for Stefan and saw him drinking.

She was caught off-guard when Stefan looked back at her and raised his glass.

She rolled her eyes.

“Kanina dine-dedma mo ko tapos ngayon..” she murmured.

“Huh?” Matteo heard her.

“Ah… I said I’m kind of tired, Matteo, do you mind if I go back to my seat?”

Bernadette changed the topic.

“Hi there, handsome. Want to dance?”

Jessy, Chloe’s cousin approached Matteo.

“Of course I don’t mind at all, Bernadette.” Matteo answered.

“Right. Hindi mo man lang ako ihahatid.” Bernadette kept that thought to herself.

She turned around only to be bumped on a well-built chest.

She looked up and was stunned to see who it was.

“Y…you?”

Stefan smiled.

“I hope you’re not yet tired. May I have this dance?”

Stefan offered his hand.

His breath tells her that he is drunk but is in control enough to stand up.

Her mind is battling as to whether or not she should accept this guy’s invitation.

Her superego tells her that the man is intoxicated, thus, putting her on danger

But her ego tells her that this chap has captivated her attention since this morning.

Eventually she found herself smiling and taking the man’s hand.

The song By Chance started to play.

“Wow, I’m a lucky guy.”

Stefan commented as he placed Bernadette’s hands on his nape.

“Why is that?”

Bernadette confusingly asked.

“Kanina lang, pang party yung songs tapos bigla na lang lovesong nung inaya kita.”

Stefan chuckled while raising his eyebrows up and down.

He then positioned his hands on Bernadette’s waist.

“So bakit ngayon lang? You waited for the lovesong to be played?”

Bernadette tried to hide the fact that she’s curious.

“I didn’t have the guts.”

Stefan admitted and looked down.

Bernadette raised a brow

“is that why you get yourself drunk, mister?”

“Yeah. And.. uhm… AH! Nevermind. I’m Stefan.”

“Bernadette”

“So you’re the bride’s bestfriend and I am the groom’s. Do you think it’s a coincidence?”

Bernadette thought for a while.

“Well, do you?”

“Actually I believe in fate, Bernadette.”

“Bee na lang. That’s what they call me.”

“Alright, Bee. Do you believe in destiny?”

She smiled.

“Maniniwala lang ako kapag nakita ko na ang destinied para sa’kin.”

Stefan rested his forehead on hers, he loved the closeness because he can smell her scent.

I actually planned na gawin siyang two shot lang hahahaha! Kaso hindi kaya eh. Baka maging ongoing series siya pero baka hindi ganun ka haba. Ang hirap kasi eh.
