We kissed

It was a quiet night.
The moon hung in an empty sky littered with stars.
To the naked ear, a soft breeze could be heard rustling the leaves in the trees.
It was peaceful.
Too peaceful in fact.

Nico's POV
I breathed in the fresh air.
For once, I felt as if anything was possible.
My walk turned into a jog, which quickly turned into a full sprint.
I felt giddy.
It wasn't long before I was in front of reyna's door, panting from the run.
I stopped before knocking, the grin on my face slowly diminishing.
I hadn't thought this through.
Through my rush I had forgotten possibly the most important factor in this whole ordeal.
I had forgotten how Reyna felt.
For all I knew she just saw us as friends, siblings even.
I scowled.
But, feeling spontaneous, I knocked.

Reynas POV
I laid in bed with a feeling of uncertainty.
I didn't like the way I left things with nico.
He seemed angry and he never seemed angry.
I looked out through my window at the star strewn sky.
I wish he were here right now.
My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door.
I stood up from where I lay and swung it open, knowing which eyes I would meet.
And there he was.
His hair was messy and he was panting a little.
A smile crept up and I tried my best to hide it.
He didn't seem to notice.

Nico's POV
She opened the door and suddenly I wished I had come sooner.
She stood with her hand covering her mouth.
Hiding a smile.
I took that as confirmation for what I was about to do.
"Nico where have you been?"
I took a step forward.
"Are you mad at me?"
I took her hand away from her mouth and held it in mine.
"No" I responded.
"Oh"
Before she could say anything else I took a chance, leaned forward, and pressed my lips to hers.
