Y/n POV
I had taken a shower and gone to bed falling asleep quickly. I woke with a start as Grant shook me awake. with bleary eyes i look up at him. his bright blue eyes shine with fear as he starts to pull me by my hand. Grant motions for me to be silent and hands me my gun. he leads me silently down to the basement by my hand. as we are heading down the stairs Eddie comes around the corner shoving Gabby towards us.
"Gabby go with them i don't want you to get hurt!" Eddie whisper shouts at her as she pushes back.
"i don't want you to get hurt either dumb ass." she whispers back.
i hear gun fire and break free of grant's hand to try and help. Grant shouts for me. i ignore him and pull out my gun ready to fire. i pear around the corner close to the fire fight and see my ex running for the exit in retreat and gaege chasing after him. I look over to the the foyer where he left from and see Mully laying on the floor clutching his leg and josh trying to help him. I run over to them while ripping a piece of cloth off of the night dress i have on.
"Josh get me a stick quick." josh had been holding pressure on Mully's leg so i took his place. he went over to the stairs and broke one of the banister bars off and ran back over. he takes my place again as i start to tie a tourniquet about 3 inches above the gunshot on Mully's leg. Mully winced at the pain as Josh and I start to try and help him up.
"We need to get him to the hospital"
"that's to dangerous. that would risk all of ours safety including yours." Eddie responds
"what if you do it? i saw your file you used to be a surgeon for the army did you not?" Grant says
"yeah," i sigh and look to them, "gabby i need you to get lots of antiseptic, bandages and towels gloves if possible. Eddie, get me an extremely sharp knife, needle, thread, and a lighter. Grant, i need you to help me get Mully to a well lit table." i turn to josh as Grant comes and helps me with mully. "i need you to find me something to help him with the pain if you can some sort of sedative if y'all don't have any then alcohol."
Josh scurries off on his mission as everyone else already had. i look at mully he was wreathing in pain and pale from blood loss.
"come on mully your gonna be okay, i'll make sure of it."
"don't know about that but if your optimistic i am too." he replies with a half hearted chuckle.
Grant picks Mully's top half up and i gently lift his bottom half as we Grant leads me to the dining room. we help him up onto the table. Josh returns with some sort of sedative. i inject Mully and he drifts off. Gabby returns with Eddie. i take a rolled up towel and put it under his head. gaege walks in
"he got away, what do we need to do to help?" Gaege said out of breath
"leave the tourniquet on and cut his pant leg off, and clean the area so i can see and so it's sterile." i run over and grab the knife and needle. then i wash my hand and put some sterile gloves on. i take the lighter and heat the heat the blade of the knife killing any bacteria on it.
Mully's leg was all cleaned up and the blood had stopped so i could clearly see the bullet. after i get the bullet out i pour antiseptic in the wound to clean it. i sew mully up and clean his leg so it wasn't covered in blood and remove the tourniquet.
"all done. He's not going to be up for a bit, but he is going to be fine after some rest and getting him some food. he lost a lot of blood but i don't think that a blood transfusion is necessary."
Gaege walks up to me and hugs me so tight i can hardly breathe. I'm shocked by this because he has hardly spoken a word to me since i got in the car the day before.
"thank you, Y/n." he says with a shaky voice.
"no problem." i pat his back and then he steps away. Josh and Eddie are next to give me a hug of thanks and gabby was next. she gave me a friendly kiss of the cheek and a hug.
"we should probably get to the next safe house, while Mully is still under. Go get y'alls stuff together meet in the cars in 20. and hey Gabby could you get Y/n's stuff i want to talk to her for a minute?" Grant tells us, Gabby nods and then runs up stairs. I turn to Grant as i walk to the sink to wash the dried blood off of my hands.
"so what did you want to talk about?" i question as i turn back around to face Grant. there was tears running down Grant's face I walk over and bring him into a hug. he tucks his face into the crook of my neck as he sobs into my shoulder. i gently rub his back. after Grant calmed down he pulled away.
"thank you, you saved a part of my family. I don't know what i would have done had i lost Mully today." Grant says, his voice cracking
"I couldn't let him just die." i reach up and gently wiped a stray tear away from Grants cheek.
"Hey, he is going to be okay. i promise. come on lets get you cleaned up and get going okay?" grant nods and walks over to the sink to wash his face. i hand him a clean towel, then we walk to the foyer just as everyone was meeting up. Grant helped Eddie get Mully loaded into one of the SUVs and Gabby Josh and i all got everyones stuff put into the other one, while Gaege grabbed weapons and food for the road.
In one car there was Mully, Myself, Grant and Gaege in the other there was Josh, Gabby and Eddie. i sat in the back to help Mully if anything where to happen and grant drove with Gaege in the passenger seat. we took off down the mountain and to the next state over.
