Chapter 1 | uncle herb

I walked down the hall to chris room seeing him already up watching cartoons with this serious ass look on his face.

I laughed going over and picking him up " how long you been awake" i asked

Chris smiled " tree" he said laughing as he layed his head on me

I shook my head smiling " three what?.. You know what come on lets go eat" I said

I walked out the room and down the stairs to the kitchen. I set him down in the chair and made a bowl of a cereal setting it in front of him.

Chris started eating messily " aye! Lil folks if you get that on your outfit you finna have to owe me a band" i said

Chris smiled looking over at me " ugly"  i could have sworn i heard him say

I looked at him supprised "you know you look like me right folk?" I said

Chris frowned pulling at one of his curls " nuh uh" he said

I smiled gently pulling his hand away from his head " hurry up and eat" i said

Once he was done i grabbed the bowl and put it in the sink " today we gon see one of your uncles" i said

Chris's face imeadly lit up " uncle hewb!" He yelled

I smiled nodding " yeah let me text him" i said pulling my phone out

I texted herb seeing if it was okay for us to come over, he said it was okay as long as i didn't mind other people being there. I picked chris up going to help him put his shoes on as we left the house.

I walked to the car opening the back door " lift yo arms" i said putting him into the car seat

Chris frowned crossing his arms " dont like it" he said

I laughed buckling the straps " you betta not unbuckle it" I said closing the door

I got in the drivers seat and started the car driving off, i played one of sosas song since chris insisted on listening to him and not me. I drove for a while listening to chris attempt rapping love sosa. I laughed parking the car as we got to herbs house.

I got out of the car closing the door as i went to get chris out " did you just slobber on me" i asked

Chris started giggling as i wiped my arm on my pants "that's not funny folk" i said

Chris smiled pointing to herbs front door " uncle hewb!" He yelled

I sighed smiling " alright alright let me fix yo earings first" I said fixing his earings that looked like they were about to fall out

Chris smiled " shiney" he said as I nodded, hopefuly he'll learn to appreciate jewelry as he gets older

I walked up the steps knocking on the door waiting for it to open.

Herb opened the door smiling once he saw Chris, I handed him to herb " is Keith here?" I asked

Herb nodded " yeah and a few other people" he said bouncing up and down making Chris giggle

I smiled " take lil folk to him, he finna loose his shit" i said

Herb moved out of the way letting me in " whats your favorite song?" He asked Chris

Chris didn't even hesitate "sosa" he said looking up at him herb smiled guestering for me to follow him

We walked to the living room and as soon as we walked in chris's eyes widened

  I laughed looking down at him not even noticing the other guy who was on the couch " whos that?" I asked

Chris hid his face in herbs chest cause in moments like this he got hella shy, herb walked over to Keith handing Chris to him

Herb smiled shaking his head " oh and that's durk, durk meet von" he said

I looked over noticing someone sitting there on his phone " what's up" i said going to dap him up

Durk set his phone down nodding at me " that yo son" he asked

I nodded sitting on the couch " yeah, you got any kids?" I asked

Durk nodded " i gotta daughter, she my whole life" he said

I nodded understandingly, we talked for a while and herb told me how he met durk after i left school to focus on my music.

  Chris hopped down from keiths lap tapping my leg " tired" he said

I looked down nodding " we'll leave in a second" i said standing up

Durk stood up "i actually have to go too" he said

Herb nodded dapping both of us up and hugging chris " you should come around more"he said

I picked chris up nodding " yeah fasho" i said and i really meant it

We left walking out the house and down the steps as herb closed the door.

  I smiled " it was nice meeting yo folk next time we gon talk about dreads cause yo hair color is not it" i said

Durk looked at me running his hand through his hair " i like my hair" he said

I looked at him before laughing " righr" i said before walking to the car

Durk stood there confused before laughing it off and walking off
