Twenty Two

It was minutes after Nandini left the apartment that Samar suddenly collapsed

"SAMAR!!"

Meera screamed trying to get a hold of him, but he was too heavy for her, it was Arjun who caught him before he could hit the ground

"I got him, I got him" Arjun said assuredly to Meera

He held Samar by his torso and carefully laid him on the couch where Meera sat holding his head

"Oh my God Arjun, we have to take him back to the hospital" Meera said in a panicked voice

Arjun took his phone out of his pocket and started dialing "I told him this was a bad idea" he said shaking his head

Samar opened his eyes and tried to raise his head off Meera's lap "I'm ok, I promise..."

He looked at Meera hardly keeping his eyes open and with seconds he was out again...

Meera wiped the cold sweat off his forehead with the back of her hand

He was pale and too weak to move, it was like his body was trying to tell him to slow down, on top of his physical injury, his encounter with Nandini took a toll on him emotionally that his body just shut down

Arjun looked at Meera talking in a orderly tone "Don't let him move"

Meera nodded as Arjun walked away giving their location to the emergency services operator

Samar opened his eyes again and growled in pain, he murmured in a whisper "I'm ok just take me to bed, I'll be fine"

Meera huffed "Stop acting stupid Samar, you're going to the hospital, this is not a joke" Meera scolded him softly

Samar exhaled and buried his face in her chest nodding, He had no choice but to admit defeat, he needed to be in the hospital to recover properly

He hated feeling this weak

He turned his head back up with his eyes still shut "But only for a couple of days" 

Meera looked at his heavy lidded eyes reflecting the exhaustion he was feeling and smiled before kissing his forehead "Yes, only a couple of days my love" she sighed with relief

Samar ended up staying in the hospital for ten days, he developed a high fever due to an infection and needed antibiotics which made him feel nauseous and dizzy most days

Meera was with him the entire time he was in there, she rarely left his side, no matter how many times he asked her to leave with Priety so she could have some rest and a proper night sleep, but she would rather sleep on the hospital chair than to stay away from him and he couldn't love her more for doing that

At Samar's apartment the day he got discharged ..

"No, you need your rest, you're not sleeping on the couch" Meera blurted unzipping his hospital bag

"Baby, you're not sleeping on the couch either, and that's final" Samar said sitting on the bed as Meera walked back and forth in front of him putting his clothes back in the closet

He stared at her with a mischievous smile

"What?!" Meera asked with raised brows

"Well, that leaves us no choice but to sleep in this bed together" Samar said shrugging his shoulders

Meera looked at him with slightly dropped jaw
