The jeweled steps are already quite white with dew
It is so late that the dew soaks my gauze stocking,
And I let down the crystal curtain
And watch the moon through the clear autumn

About the poem: By depicting the court lady standing on the jeweled steps longing for the Emperor, Li Po effectively conveyed his inner lament of being abandoned by the Emperor and his enduring wish to regain the Emperor’s favor.
