※ A story where Jotaro's sister dies in his arms.
-----
Jotaro craddled you in his arms as he ushered Joseph to drive faster.
You laid on his lap, cold and pale. You didn't have much time left, but Jotaro had hope. If they were fast enough, they could get you to the hospital, they could save you just in time.
"Hold on Y/N, please hold on just a bit more." He said, his voice still as deep and rumbly as ever, but dripping with worry.
He spoke to you, but those words were more to reassure himself than anything else. You knew you were done for, and you were happy to slip away if it was in the warm arms of your big brother.
Your skin was losing its color turning into a sickly ash tone, getting colder and colder by the second. Jotaro tried to hold you closer to his chest to keep as much warmth as possible.
"Goddamnit, drive faster, old man!" he growled, anxiety building up in this usually calm teenager.
His heart was aching with stress and his chest heaved with rapid breaths. He lost so much already, he risked so much to save everyone, he couldn't afford to lose you too.
You were so tiny, curled up in his lap, engulfed in his strong burly arms. He always mocked you for your size difference, calling you a midget, and you retorting back by calling him Bigfoot and whatnot.
But now, as you were nested against his chest, he couldn't help but want to protect your fragile form. You were like a small child in his hold. You were his baby. His baby sister that he would absolutely die for.
He regretted not telling you how much he loved you, how much he cherished you.
"Jojo..." you called weakly, your voice like a quiet flute, and he cut you off.
"Don't talk. You'll be fine, just hang in there, I'm here. Don't be scared."
His words made your heart flutter in your chest. Jotaro was never the affectionate or soft type, his sudden change of attitude only implied how scared he truly was. But there was nothing you could do. You were a goner. You gripped on his shirt with the strength of a starved kitten.
"I love you so much... I love you, I never loved anyone like I loved you onii-chan. There is no one I love more than you." Your voice cracked into a sob as you spoke your last words to him.
"SHUT UP! You're not gonna die, you hear me?! God fucking damn it Y/N, you're not dying on me!!"
You looked up at him and scanned his face, imprinting his chiseled features, tan skin and jagged, pained blue eyes into your memory. You had a very handsome brother, he looked exactly like your father.
Everything about him inspired safety and trust, from his deep gruff voice that growled like a predator, to his scent that was a mix of nicotine and French cologne. There was no man quite like him and you hoped he realised that.
You shakily brought a small hand to his cheek, caressing his skin with the upmost care. In any other situation, he would have swatted your hand off, but this time, he embraced it, he yearned for it, even. Cupping your icy hand in his huge warm one, he relished in every last bit of contact he had with you.
You stared at his ocean eyes. They were terrified, but you tried to send him your softest smile to maybe soothe him and hopefully see his eyes turn into another, much calmer expression.
And they did, his gaze softened on you as he noticed another wave of tears brimming in your sweet innocent eyes. You didn't deserve this. You of all people, didn't deserve to die so soon, away from home, and full of unachieved dreams.
You were supposed to live by his side, graduate from high school, go to college, have a boyfriend that he'd beat the shit out of, become a beautiful and successful woman, get married, have children.
He felt like a failure. He failed to protect you as a brother. He was supposed to keep you safe. But he had been too prideful, too greedy. And now you were dying.
With a brush of your thumb on his cheek, you weakly requested, your voice hoarse.
"Jojo, can I ask you one last thing...?"
He nodded frantically. Of course you could! What kind of asshole would say no to an angel at the edge of death?
"...Can I see you without your hat, please?"
Without wasting any second, Star Platinum appeared next to him and removed his user's hat from his head, as the teenager didn't want to move his hands off of you, scared that you would vanish if he let go for even a second.
Tears leaked freely from your eyes and Star Platinum wiped them all away, not letting a single drop stain your cheeks.
You smiled brightly, happy to see Star Platinum one last time, but most importantly, happy to see your brother in all his glory. You always loved his hair, and his face was unshadowed, for once. It made you so happy.
"...Thank you.... Jotaro..."
You whispered so quietly, by the time he registered your words, he noticed the light leaving your eyes as your hand limped from his cheek.
He took a sharp breath as he held your now lifeless hand in his own, his eyes widening as yours were dull, and soulless.
Staring into the void, his brain not processing your passing, Jotaro stayed still, not moving a single inch of his body, not even blinking.
Star Platinum had taken it upon himself to close your eyelids, leaving you to rest with the most peaceful expression on your face.
Jotaro, with his face stuck in a blank expression of denial, slowly and carefully put your hand over your chest. His own then moved to stroke your cold face, being more delicate than he's ever been in his entire life, scared he would shatter you into millions of pieces at the slightest movement, like glass, like a porcelain doll.
He craddled your head with one huge hand and your small body with the other, patting you gently as he looked down at you. A sleeping baby.
That's it. You just needed to sleep. You'll have a good rest and then everything would be better.
"Goodnight, Y/N."
