You walked out of your appartment and carefully locked the door before you headed down the stairs, securing your bag over your shoulder, and ready to get the day started.

"Oh hello Y/N!"

As you descended you were met with your neighbour. You smiled and greeted her.

"Good morning Ms. Ricci! How are you?"

"I'm good but uhm..." Her demeanor changed to a hesitant one. You were a bit confused when she approached you, "Actually, I didn't sleep too well."

You opened your mouth, but before you could ask her why or what was wrong, she beat you to it and continued.

"I don't mean to offend, but the music you played was really loud last night, I think we all heard it." She carefully treaded, and you couldn't hide your shame.

"Ah... About that..." You spoke guiltily, "Yes... I'm so sorry, I didn't think it was that loud... I don't know what to say..."

You rubbed the back of your neck, looking down. Now that was bad. All you could think of was having to print a little note of apology towards your neighbours before you received another noise complaint or had the police at your door.

It was true that last night, you had decided to celebrate Risotto's new promotion in Passione by blasting the entirety of Metallica's Load and Black albums while singing, eating and drinking through half of the night.

This promotion meant a lot and was important to both you and him, so you may or may not have thrown a little improvised party, just the two of you. But clearly you didn't anticipate the neighbours would obviously hear the loud bass, guitar, drums and James Hetfield's soothing and gentle voice.

"No, my dear." Ms. Ricci cut you off again, bringing a long finger to your lips to shush you. "I know. I was young too."

"Uhm..."

"It's okay. Metal music? Really?" She scoffed with disbelieving eyes, "It's completely normal at your age to want to have some... Intimate time with your boyfriend."

You weren't sure what she meant by that and you swore if you furrowed your eyebrows any further, they'd fuse together.

"I-... I don't think I under...stand..."

She reassuringly put a hand over your shoulder. "Of course darling. I know that technique too. Blasting some loud rebellious music to cover the very music of your love-making."

You gasped so fast you almost choked on the air you inhaled and your eyes almost popped out of your skull at her words.

"O-OF MY-... WHAT?!"

She chuckled as your face became redder by the second, your jaw slack from utter shock. You couldn't believe what you were hearing.

"I know sweetie I know. Don't worry, love. Your secret is in good hands. Nobody will know you are one of the... 'Vocal sirens', as I call them."

She cutely made a zipping gesture over her lips, signaling she would never betray your fabricated and fictional secret.

"M-ms. Ricci this is completely- You are mistaken! I- I've never... You're getting it all wrong-" You panicked, agitating your hands and struggling to form words. "A-actually..."

Why was it always when you were telling the actual truth that you sounded the fakest? You looked more suspicious than a thieving cat with a piece of tuna still in its mouth.

"Also, that's one handsome lad you have at home." The nosy lady commented dreamily, "Very tall, big and burly, oh! We don't have strong men like these nowadays! I can't blame you for needing to cover your noises after what he must be doing to you-"

Feeling your heart about to explode in your chest from embarrassment and unable to take this punishment any longer, you hustled.

"I HAVE TO GO MS RICCI I'M EXTREMELY LATE FOR WORK, HAVE A GOOD DAY BYE-" You screamed breathlessly before sprinting down the stairs, skipping steps and almost tripping over your own feet.

"Okay~ have a nice day little Y/N!"

You huffed and tried to calm yourself down as you finally stepped outside. The air feeling so cold against your heated face. If anyone saw you now they'd probably think you either ran a mile or were hosting a fever.

Ms. Ricci was usually a nice lady, about a few years older than your mom. She liked to take care of plants and you would usually pet her dogs. Extremely friendly neighbour, but after this morning you didn't know how you'd be able to face her again. Or any of your neighbours, for that matter.

"Haaaah...." You wheezed and held your cheeks to cool them down, "Ris can't know about this..."
