The Future

Lewis glared down at his enemy below him, as Arthur fell toward the large jagged rocks below him. His stunned and betrayed eyes shook the ghost, as Lewis realised what he'd done.
Y/N watched everything play out, paralysed with horror at the scene unfolding.
That is, until she heard a gun shot ring out. Covering her ears, Y/N watched the shattered silver heart she'd seen on the ghost fall to the ground. The vision of the cave quickly vanished, as Arthur fell onto a pile of boxes, fainting from the shock. Taking shelter behind a stack of boxes, Y/N glanced behind her to see Arthur's uncle Lance holding a shotgun.
Lewis turned around slowly, growling lowly at the man before him. He slowly advanced upon him, oblivious to the girl hiding behind the boxes as he passed.
Keeping low, Y/N rushed toward Arthur, trying to wake him up, and prayed to god that Lance could hold back the ghost.
As she shook him, however, she felt a sharp pain in her right arm. Letting out a yelp, she held it, glancing down to see a large, canine-like bite mark on it, yet there was no blood.
"What the hell is going on?!" She hissed between her teeth. Holding her arm close, she looked down.
There, not too far from her, sat the same shattered locket. Picking it up gently, she didn't notice the ghost turn toward her, finally noticing her presence. He dropped the unconscious Lance, glaring at the girl kneeling beside Arthur.
Holding it up, the heart opened, revealing Vivi and a purple-haired man together. She was shocked. They knew this guy?
The picture slowly started to change, replacing the current portrait with one of Vivi, Arthur, Mystery and the man.
The heart was snatched out of her hands, and she yelped in terror at the ghost glaring down at her, angry that she'd dared invade his privacy.
She closed her eyes, expecting him to attack, but instead heard a light thud. Opening her eyes once again, she was shocked to see the ghost kneeling on the ground, black tears leaking out of his eye sockets and trembling slightly as he realised...something.
At that moment, Arthur had woken, and was holding his head. "W-what happe-" he began to ask, but Y/N held her hand over his mouth. Pointing over to the emotional skeleton, she put her finger to her lips. But the ghost heard, for he snapped his attention back to the two.
They were all silent, as the ghost slowly stood up. Turning to the two still sitting, the ghost held out his hands.
"....you need help?"
His voice had a ghostly echo to it. Y/N slowly but hesitantly took his hand. Arthur stood up himself, still staring at the ghost in fear.
"Th-thank you?" Y/N asked, still unsure of what the spirit's motive was.
Before anyone could say anything, however, Y/N felt a sudden pang of fear. Holding her chest, Y/N knew it wasn't hers. It was...
"Mystery and Vivi are in trouble!" Y/N yelled, running out the back of the truck. Right at that moment, the truck she had just exited exploded, with the ghost, Arthur and Lance at the exit, knocking them over.
Y/N glanced to what had caused it. Her heart leaped to her throat as she saw the same plant creature jumping from the wrecked vehicle, attacking something Y/N couldn't see through the smoke.
The ground beneath her started to shake, and she stumbled and tripped. A vine headed her way, and Y/N covered herself with her arms. But before they reached her, purple flames burned the plant away, clearing a path to reveal Lewis and Arthur lifting Lance. Arthur carried Lance to safety, while lewis continued to burn away the vines.
Glancing around once more, she spotted something running along the moving vines. Her eyes widened as she felt a sense of deja vu and familiarity once again.
There was a large, canine creature, with Vivi on his back. The canine had white fur, seven tails, and a large black mane with tufts of red, as well as the signature red collar Mystery always wore.
Without even thinking, Y/N knew that the creature in front of her was a Kitsune, a legendary animal of Japanese culture.
She watched in wonder and recognition as Vivi and Mystery fought the plant girl, eventually beating her.
Vivi held a bat over her, planning to finish her off, before Mystery stepped between them. Y/N felt a sense of regret and pity coming from Mystery, staring down at Shiromori.
Vivi seemed to understand as well, for she let down her bat, walking away from Shiromori, Mystery soon joining.
Y/N let out a sigh of relief. Glancing over to Shiromori, her eyes widened as she saw a furious expression on her face. She watched as she grabbed her clippers with her newly formed arms, and leapt towards Mystery, her weapon raised above her head.
"MYSTERY LOOK OUT!"
Vivi reacted quickly, placing herself between Shiromori and Mystery. She struggled as the clippers met her bat, pushing against the already exhausted girl. Shiromori brought her weapon back once again, slashing at Vivi.
It hit its mark, as Vivi coughed up blood, falling to the ground in pain. Y/N was already running toward Shiromori, and had pounced on her back.
Shiromori, not expecting the attack from behind, stumbled back. The human plant grabbed onto the H/C hair, ripping her away from her, just as Mystery pounced at her as well. Without thinking, she slashed at the canine, knocking him to the ground.
Y/N gasped as a new pain hit her. Kneeling over, she held her side, before falling completely to the ground. The pain was unbearable. As she heard Vivi attacking Shiromori one last time, Y/N crawled as fast as she could toward the large animal before her.
The pain didn't go away, as she started blacking out. She finally reached the Kitsune, grabbing onto his fur tightly. Y/N felt his head fall limply beside her, his breathing coming out in ragged gasps.
"Y/N! MYSTERY!"
Y/N could faintly hear Vivi running up to her. Lifting her head, Vivi was kneeling beside the two. "What happened?!"
Y/N didn't understand. All Shiromori did was pull her hair. Yet, she was feeling pain in her side. She turned her attention to Mystery. Her heart dropped as the pain slowly began to subside, but a cold feeling started to fill her stomach.
Mystery wasn't breathing.
"V-Vivi, apply pressure to the wound, quickly!" Y/N ordered. Vivi obeyed, using her scarf as a cloth. Mystery didn't react though.
"M-Mystery? Wake up, please-"
Nothing.
Vivi cupped her hands to her mouth, tears over-flowing from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks, before hugging the beast lying before her. Y/N kneeled beside Vivi, hanging her head as she let her tears fall.
As the two mourned over their friend, they felt him move slightly. The pain had completely disappeared from Y/N's side now, and both she and Vivi were staring in shock as Mystery's once pure white fur turned black.
Lightning struck Mystery, sending Vivi flying toward the Mystery Skulls band, and sending Y/N toward the road behind them.
Mystery let out a loud howl.
Lewis and the little dead-beat ghosts covered their ears, while Arthur's arm started to malfunction. Y/N coughed as she slowly knelt on her knees, the new pain in her chest being her own.
Turning toward where Mystery should've been, she found a large, dark Kitsune towering over her friends.
Hearing the horn of a vehicle and seeing headlights headed her way, she turned toward the oncoming truck gaining upon the small fragile human.
