The Eighth Weasley

Chapter 5 - The Feast

Everybody at the Gryffindor table stood up and applauded thunderously. Harry was getting the loudest cheer yet. He sat next to Hermione, opposite Ron and Y/N, and shook hands with all the Weasleys, as they were sitting the closest to him.
"We got Potter! We got Potter!" chanted Fred and George.
Harry turned his head to Dumbledore, who lifted his glass and smiled. The twins stopped their little song and settled down with the rest of the table.

"Abbott, Hannah!" called the professor, silencing the hall once again.

Y/N wasn't paying attention to the sorting ceremony anymore. She was more interested in knowing who her professors were.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Oliver, who's the professor calling out the names?" she asked.
She had already known Oliver Wood - the Gryffindor Quidditch team captain - because he had come home quite a few times.

"Boot, Terry!"

"That's Professor McGonagall," replied Oliver.

"RAVENCLAW!"

"And what about all the others?" asked Y/N, nodding her head to the professors' table.

"Brocklehurst, Mandy!"

"I'll just tell you the ones you need to be bothered about," said Oliver.

"RAVENCLAW!"

"Well, Professor McGonagall will be your 'Transfiguration' teacher. She's also head of our house."

"Brown, Lavender!" 

"That one there is Professor Quirrell."

"GRYFFINDOR!"

"He'll be teaching you 'Defence Against the Dark Arts'."

"Bulstrode, Millicent!"

"Then there's Professor Flitwick."

"SLYTHERIN!"

"He teaches 'Charms' and is head of Ravenclaw."

"Finch-Fletchley, Justin!"

"That's Madam Hooch."

"HUFFLEPUFF!" 

"She's the Quidditch coach."

"Longbottom, Neville!"

Y/N craned her head to look at Neville, and Oliver stopped speaking.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Neville trotted to the Gryffindor table - still wearing the hat. He had to jog back shamefully while everyone laughed at him. Y/N then turned back to Oliver, motioning for him to continue.

"Parkinson, Pansy!"

"There, in the far corner, Professor Sprout."

"SLYTHERIN!"

"She teaches 'Herbology' and is the head of Hufflepuff."

"Patil, Parvati!"

"Madam Pomfrey."

"GRYFFINDOR!"

"Well, she's just our matron."

"Patil, Padma!"

"Madam Pince."

"RAVENCLAW!"

"She's the librarian."

"Turpin, Lisa!"

"Hagrid's the gamekeeper."

"RAVENCLAW!"

"Professor Snape, over there."

"Zabini, Blaise!"

"He teaches 'Potions' and is the head of Slytherin."
