Chapter Fifteen.

Marcus managed to persuade Isabella to go with him to hunt, he just hoped that Seth would realise it was his chance to get Paige away, because if he knew Isabella then it wouldn’t be long before she turned on Seth and attacked Paige. He walked up to Seth’s room and knocked the door, it took a while for him to open it, but when he did, he looked annoyed.

“What?” he growled.

Marcus peered over his shoulder at Paige, she was injured, from Seth’s attack and he grimaced, it was going to be harder to get away with her in that condition.

“We’re going hunting now,” he told him, he winked and mouthed ‘Go’ as he turned and walked from the room leaving a confused Seth standing by the door.

Seth frowned wondering why Marcus had winked at him, then he rolled his eyes, he probably thought it would mean he could have his way with Paige while they were out, and he didn’t know why he was telling him to go. He turned to look at her; she was asleep, curled up in a ball on his bed she had sobbed herself to sleep.

He walked over to the bed and sat next to her, brushing a curl from her face and tracing her lips with his fingers, she was so beautiful and he hadn’t liked it when he had seen her so upset, especially when he was the reason for her tears. It shocked him when she opened her eyes and his hand froze on her face as she looked at him, her big brown eyes boring through him.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered, it was the first time he could remember apologising for anything since he had become a vampire but he felt he needed to tell her that he was sorry for everything he had put her through.

Paige was taken aback by the soft tone of his voice, and the gentleness of his touch as he lifted her chin angling her mouth to his, he placed a kiss on her lips and then sat back away from her. She touched her lips still shocked from the tender kiss, and stared at his back. Seth suddenly realised what Marcus was trying to say and his eyes widened, he needed to get Paige out of there because of Isabella.

“How is your shoulder?” he asked still with his back to her, he was too ashamed to look again knowing he had hurt her.

“It’s a little sore,” she said rubbing her tender shoulder and wincing.

Seth nodded he knew it was more than a little sore, but he wasn’t getting into an argument about it, “Do you trust me?”

Paige frowned at the question, as much as she wanted to say that she didn’t trust him, a big part of her did even after his treatment of her, “I suppose so.”

Seth laughed softly then turned to face her, “You’re foolish to trust me, but seeing as you do we’re going on a little trip.”

Paige looked at him as though he was insane, but she could see from the determined expression on his face that he was being deadly serious. He pulled a bag from underneath the bed, and she was shocked to see that it was rammed full of money.

“We will use your car, they won’t be able to track us,” he informed her.

She decided he had gone mad, who were they she wondered as she watched him throw some clothes into a bag and walk over to her, “Come on we don’t have time to sit around here.”

“Who are you talking about?” she asked, climbing out of the bed and following him downstairs, she looked at the hall in shock, it was a mess the front door was hanging off and there was blood on the floor.
