Calming stimming behaviors make it easier manage my anxiety because I am control overwhelming feelings that comes with anxiety. Most of my anxiety comes from feeling like I must hide my autistic traits or people will not understand the actual challenges I deal with. As female on spectrum, I learned how to hide those autistic traits that make me because other people will judge me because I am not typical autistic or what they think is typical. As female on the spectrum, I have learned to camouflage most of autistic traits, but it is stressful to hide those traits all the time. As adult I know it is not helpful for me to camouflage those traits because it leads me to anxious because I feel like in some situations that I still must do that.
