The next day, Maria decided that I go out with her and the children.

We were running around the city/town when we decided to go on a picnic.

I was reading my book when Maria calls me.

"Let's think of something to sing for the baroness when she comes. Y/n, will you please?" Maria asks me as she hands me her guitar to play which I grab.

"You can play guitar?" Friedrich asks which I nod. "Of course," I reply with a smile as I began to tune the guitar.

"Now, what songs do you know?" Maria asks the children.

"We don't know any songs," Friedrich says.

"Not any?"

"We don't even know how to sing,"
"No,"

"Well, let's not lose any time. You must learn,"

"But how?"

"Y/n?" Maria asks when I start to strum as she sings.

"Let's start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read, you begin with..." she sings, looking at Gretl.

"A-B-C," Gretl says, making me chuckle.

"When you sing you begin with Do Re Me," I sang, as the children repeated.

"Do Re Me, The first three notes just happen to be
Do Re Me," I continued as the children repeated what I sang.

"Do Re Me Fa So La Ti~" I continued, looking at the children but they didn't sing so I looked at Maria.

"Let's see if I can make it easer. Mmm. Y/n?" she thinks.

"How about we do the way you taught me, Maria?" I asked as she gave me a knowing smile, making me strum.

Normal - Y/n

Italics - Maria

Bold + Italics - Both

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call my self
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, note to follow sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do-oh-oh-oh

"Doe!" Gretl yelled, hopping closer to Maria and I.

"A deer, a female deer," I sang.

"Ray!" The children yelled.

"A drop of golden sun,"

"Me!"

"A name I call myself,"

"Far!" The children yelled again.

"A long, long way to run,"

"Sew, a needle pulling thread," The children sang along with me. "La~"

"A note to follow sew," Maria sang out, reminding the children. "Tea?"

"A drink with jam and bread~" The children continued to sing.

"That will bring us back to Do," Maria sang, pointing to the children to allow them to sing.

"Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long long way to run~" The children sang, making Maria and I smile before they all dragged Maria and I away from the picnic.

"Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow so
Tea, a drink with jam and bread,"

"That will bring us back to Do~" I sang.
