I walked downstairs.
"What are we having for breakfast?" I asked.
"We're having pancakes for brunch and then going to the playground for the three younger kids," my mom answered.
She and Mrs. Simons were in the kitchen cutting up toppings for the pancakes. Out in the living room, Tommy was helping Henry with a puzzle.
"...See, this piece goes here because the spots on the cow line up..." I heard Tommy saying.
I walked over to help them. The picture was of a cow standing in a peaceful green pasture. I picked up a side piece and put it in its place.
"I don't need your help! Tommy's already helping me!" Henry told me.
"Yeah, Lindsey! We don't need your help," Tommy agreed.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm better at puzzles than both of you, but I guess you don't need my help."
"Can you help us? Please?" Henry relented.
Tommy stopped Henry. "Henry, no! This is exactly what she wants you to do! She wants to help us to make us feel like we are bad at the puzzle!"
Henry considered this. "Actually, I don't need anyone's help because I am the best at puzzles ever!"
Tommy groaned. "Henry, that is not at all what I meant!"
Henry shrugged and went back to his puzzle.
Later, we were called back to the kitchen for breakfast. I got two pancakes and piled them with whipped cream. I scooped up a bunch of strawberries and set them aside. I sat at the table and ate my strawberries first.
Tommy looked at me weirdly. "Why aren't you eating them on your pancakes?"
"Because fruits aren't good on pancakes or any dessert for that matter," I explained.
"Well, what about cooked fruit like cinnamon apples?" he asked.
I looked at Rose, who knew exactly what was going to happen.
"Uh oh," she said.
Tommy looked even more confused.
"Cooked fruits are disgusting!" I ranted. "They are mushy and taste like metal. Not to mention, they get stuck in my braces."
"I think I might bake you a nice apple pie," he joked.
"Absolutely not."
I finished my strawberries and ate my pancakes. I pulled out my phone. Tessa had texted our group chat a new edit about InvisibleInnit.
I texted:
Why am I just now hearing about this InvisibleInnit thing?
I clicked the video and laughed when I saw it. Lots of the newest content was from yesterday's stream. The images from the edit consisted of things like me hugging Tommy, me hiding while they watched the Helpless video, and much more. Aiden sent another video titled: "Wilbur's InvisibleInnit Stream: The Funny Moments."
I checked it out. One of the moments was when Tommy and I were screaming at each other in the background while Wilbur and Rose tried to make small talk. I laughed at myself.
"What's so funny?" Tommy asked.
"Myself," I answered.
He looked at me. "Really?"
I restarted the video to show him. He laughed too.
"You looked genuinely angry," he commented.
I nodded and turned off my phone. A few minutes later, we got into the car to go to the park.
