Abstinence: A choice where a person decides not to participate in sexual activity. This is usually set for a certain amount of time (examples may include but not limited to: until I live alone, until I fall in love, until I am in a committed relationship, until I get married, etc.)

Ace Flag: A flag made of four equally sized horizontal stripes. From top to bottom the colors are: black, gray, white, and purple.

Ace Spectrum: Grouping asexual, demisexual and gray-asexual under a single umbrella of related sexual orientations.

Aesthetic Attraction: Non-sexual appreciation for someone's looks, which could include other forms of attraction.

Alicosexual: is a sexual orientation on the Asexual Spectrum defined as someone who knows they are somewhere on the Asexual Spectrum, but as far as they know their sexuality doesn't fit particular in any label on the spectrum.

Allosexual (Allo): Used to refer to someone who is both allosexual and alloromantic, but might refer to only allosexual or only alloromantic people.

Alloromantic: Someone who experiences romantic attraction; not aromantic. It is possible to be alloromantic but not allosexual.

Allosexual: Someone who experiences sexual attraction; not asexual. 98.5% of people are allosexual. It is possible to be allosexual but not alloromantic.

Amatonormativity: The idea that (generally monogamous) romantic relationships should be an ultimate life goal of all people and that these relationships have more intrinsic worth than other relationships. Closely related to compulsory sexuality.

Antisexual: A general dislike of sexuality or sexual activity, including instances where other people are involved. Often accompanied by the belief that sex or sexuality in any form is "bad" or "wrong." Not to be confused with asexuality.

Arc: Abbreviation for "Averse, Repulsed, or Conflicted," which can describe someone's personal feelings about sex or romance.

Aroace: Short for "Aromantic Asexual."

Aromantic or Aro: A romantic orientation characterized by a persistent lack of romantic attraction toward any gender.

Aromantic Spectrum: A general term grouping all individuals whose romantic orientation is more closely related to an aromantic identity than an alloromantic identity, or for those who identify more with aromantic experiences.

Aromantic: A romantic orientation characterized by a persistent lack of romantic attraction toward any gender.

Arousal: Being "turned on," which can include a physical genital response, like an erection and/or lubrication.

Asexual or Ace: Someone who does not experience sexual attraction.

Asexuality: A sexual orientation characterized by a persistent lack of sexual attraction towards any gender. A person who does not experience sexual attraction.

Asexuality Spectrum: A grouping of all individuals whose sexuality is more closely related to asexuality than to allosexual identities, and/or who identify with asexual experiences. Also called Ace-spectrum.

Autochorissexualism: Some ace people can be aroused by sexual situations or visuals, without experiencing attraction to those involved in the situation and without a desire to be personally involved.

Averse: Feeling disgusted or put off by the thought of sex. It's not necessarily the thought that sex is "wrong," more that there's a personal "dislike."
