Y/n had an early start, making haste as she rushed to help prepare everything for the Rite of Descension which would take place in a matter of hours.
After all was prepared and the people of Liyue started to arrive, eagerly awaiting their God's annual visit, y/n left to go retrieve Aether and Paimon from the inn.
When she arrived... Aether was climbing a building while Paimon watched on with a mildly annoyed look. Though her look of annoyance shifted to delight when she spotted y/n.
"There you are! Paimon was wondering when you'd get here!" the little pixie exclaimed and y/n chuckled.
"Sorry, Paimon. I had work to do in preparation for the Rite, so I couldn't come directly here." y/n apologized, "But we've gotta hurry, it'll start soon!"
"Really? Aether, get down from there!" the pixie shouted up at the blond who gave her a glare, "The Rite is starting soon, hurry up!"
"But-!" he gave the treasure chest on the roof on last rueful look before hopping down and joining the duo, "I can get it later... right then, let's go."
Y/n guided them all the way to Yujing Terrace, stopping with a little satisfied hum when they made it, "Here it is. Looks like we got here just in time!"
"Woah... look at all the people!" Paimon breathed before tugging on Aether's hair, "Let's get up front, we can't see squat back here!"
Immediately, she zoomed to the front while Aether and y/n carefully made they way after her. When they finally made it to the front, y/n caught sight of Ningguang as a beam of light shot up into the sky.
Seems like it'd started. Y/n was actually quite curious. Her time of arrival in Liyue was after the previous year's Rite of Descension, so she'd hadn't been given the opportunity to see it until now.
As the clouds began to sail, darkening and engulfing the entire terrace in shadows, she frowned. Was this... supposed to happen?
Her question was answered when a big 🍑 dragon fell from the sky, crushing the table that'd taken TWO HOURS TO PREPARE, and sending the food offerings flying everywhere.
Ningguang and the two other women closest just barely got out of the way to avoid being crushed, and there was a collective gasp amongst the group upon seeing the dragon fall from the sky.
The silence was tense, only filled by the worried whispers of the people present. As Ningguang knelt beside the big 🍑 dragon, Aether glanced at y/n.
"Hey, is this supposed to happen?" he murmured.
"N...No... no, I don't think so..." she whispered, hands trembling a little, "Right? I'm not sure..."
Aether frowned, but Paimon tapped him on the shoulder before he could speak, "Y/n has only been here for a few months, remember? She didn't get to see last year's Rite."
"I didn't, but I'm certain that this is not how it should go." y/n murmured, "There's no way Rex Lapis would just fall out of the sky like this."
It was a long moment before Ningguang stood up before turning to the crowd, "Rex Lapis has been killed! Seal the exits!"
"WHAT?!" y/n and Aether demanded.
In an instant, a bunch of Millelith flooded into Yujing Terracs, blocking off all escape routes. Everyone in the crowd seemed panicked, though slight tremors beside Aether quickly caught his attention.
He glanced at y/n, and found that she was shaking violently. She looked fearful, eyes wide and distraught.
"Rex Lapis? The Geo Archon? Dead?!" Paimon demanded before looking over to where some of the Millelith were beginning to question people, "Looks like the Millelith are nabbing suspects who got too close."

"Damn. I don't have time for this..." Aether murmured with furrowed brows, "Y/n, come on, we should leave."
The young woman didn't reply. Instead, she faint on the spot.
Aether rushed to hold her up, startled by her sudden loss of consciousness as Paimon began freaking out.
"What the-?! Y/n!" Paimon cried.
Aether glanced back and forth between the unconscious y/n and the Millelith. He really didn't want to deal with them right now.
Sheesh, why were they even questioning people?!
How do you expect a bunch of mortals to kill a god though, huh???
"Y/n, wake up!" Paimon ordered, slapping the quietly unconscious woman with her tiny hands, "Wake. Up. Now."
"I don't think she's going to wake up." Aether told Paimon, "She's out cold."
"Huh, Paimon gets that this is surprising and all but Paimon didn't expect her to just faint!" the pixie murmured then shook her head, "We'll handle this later! For now, we've gotta get outta here before the Millelith see us!"
"Wouldn't running make us look suspicious?" Aether inquired and the pixie pouted back at him.
"Well staying here isn't a good idea!"
"But we didn't do-"
"If we get caught, just say y/n needs medical attention or something!" Paimon interrupted the blond who sighed heavily.
He looked at y/n who was still asleep and shook his head, slinging the train wreck over his shoulder instead and heading straight for the rooftop that was closest.
Y/n showed no signs of waking up anytime soon and Aether couldn't just leave her, so he just decided to take her with them. She had helped them find their way to Liyue Harbor and paid for dinner and their inn. It'd be rude to take advantage of her kindness like that.
He couldn't really blame her. For the whole fainting part. Knowing that the god who rules over the land you live in has been killed is pretty scary.
But, at the same time, it probably wasn't the shock that made the woman faint.
So... what was it?
Meh, not the time.
Y/n wasn't heavy or anything but man, it was hard to carry her and sneak around.
And to make matters worse-
'HSJSHSJ NOO' Aether internally shrieked when he stepped on a leaf.
It made a crunching noise and all eyes immediately turned to Aether and Paimon.
"Hey! You! Stop right there!" the Millelith shouted, pointing at the three.
"Make a run for it!" Paimon cried, floating ahead and Aether nearly tripped when y/n shifted a little, seemingly awake.
"Put me down." she ordered and the authority in her voice almost startled Aether.
"Don't have to tell me twice." he wheezed letting her slide off his shoulder.
It was when he scrambled down the stairs that he realized the h/c haired woman hadn't followed.
Instead, she was standing between him and the few soldiers who were hurrying towards them. It was when she picked up a stick around the size of her arm that Aether realized her eyes were closed.
"Is she sleep walking?" he wondered aloud.
Paimon let out a frightened squeal when y/n side stepped to avoid being grabbed by the first soldier, swinging the stick she held instead and hitting him on the back of the head.
Aether jumped out the way as he tumbled down the steps and stared in shock when he realized the man was out cold, laid out on the ground beside him.
The two others stared in shock before immediately rushing towards y/n, the woman fearlessly facing them. Well, if sleeping while standing and facing their general direction counts...
The last two were taken down almost immediately, y/n evading their attacks and grabbing them both by the back of their heads to slam their faces against one another, knocking them out.
"HSJGSJS, Y/N-" Aether began but shook his head, "Wait, she's unconscious, she can't hear me, okay-"
He squeaked when the h/c haired woman joined him at the bottom of the first flight of stairs, grabbing his hand and beginning to drag him towards the second.
Of course, another group of Millelith got in the way, blocking their path.
Y/n's brows furrowed slightly as her, Aether and Paimon backed away, the little pixie hiding behind the blond and the strange sleep walking mess.
'It'll be fine. Considering how y/n took on three trained soldiers with weapons and won, I'm sure the both of us can beat these guys...!' Aether tried to tell himself.
Just as he was finally beginning to believe it, y/n let out a frightened shriek.
"AAAAAAAAAAGH, THEY'RE DEAD!" she screamed, jumping towards Aether who was forced to catch her.
'Ah. She woke up.'
Y/n's eyes were fixated on the three men she had just beaten, tears gathering in her e/c eyes.
'Wait, does she not remember?'
"YOU DID THIS DIDN'T YOU!?" y/n cried, "I SHOULD'VE KNOWN! BLONDIES WITH PRETTY FACES ARE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!"
"Wait, but I didn't even-"
" S H U T ! "
"Okay, Paimon gets that you're angry but you need to calm down! You passed out at the Rite and when the Millelith found us, you took em out! Like WHAM! BAM! WHACK!" Paimon exclaimed.
Y/n blinked, "I... beat them?"
Paimon and Aether nodded rapidly.
'It... it happened again, didn't it?' y/n wondered, "WAAAAAAAAAAAA, I'M IN SO MUCH TROUBLE, MY LIFE IS OVER!"
"C-Calm down!" Aether tried to shout over her and squeaked when y/n grabbed him by the shoulders and began violently shaking him.
"CALM DOWN!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN, CALM DOWN, I JUST KILLED A MAN!!!" y/n screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Three men, actually." Paimon corrected.
"OH NO, IM DEAD. MISTER ZHONGLI IS GONNA BE SO ANGRY! WHAT WILL BAIZHU THINK?! AND NINGGUANG! MISS NINGGUANG IS GONNA KILL ME!" y/n shrieked.
'This girl-' Aether thought, losing it, "I SAID, CALM DOWN-!"
Paimon gasped when Aether karate chopped y/n on the back of her neck, knocking her out cold. Again.
"Aether, you moron, don't hit her like that!" Paimon snapped, pounding Aether with tiny fists.
Ahem, sorry.
Dramatic cliffhanger real quick.
Erm,
And as y/n began to lose conciousness(Aether definitely didn't knock her lights out in one hit) an angel came to her(and the two people who were kidnapping her) rescue.
'Oh look, a Ginger!'
(I can't with this, I'm sorry-)
