Bliss was all she felt. Looking back on her life, Toni could say this has being the most happiest week. Unlike she expected, Nasir was a lot more attentive than she thought. He was always willing to spend anytime he had with her, which was mostly at his place since she still couldn't tell her mum about him or anything. Although she fret that his work might suffer if he continued to spend more time on her, and lesser time on his work. And several times she had told him this, but Nasir had simply overlooked it.

It does make her happy that there was someone who was willing to sacrifice something just to be with her, and this could be seen in the giddy way she hopped around the house that Saturday morning, cleaning it, while dancing to the loud music from the stereo. She mopped the already clean floor without a care of the fact that her mum would go ballistic if she sees her doing this.

The sound of hands clapping together jolted her out of her joyous mood as she tried to make one last dance move. She turned swiftly to see her mum, standing at the entrance of the dining room, staring at her in wonder.

"Morning, Mum." She greeted with far more enthusiasm than needed.

Instead of the answer Toni was expecting, her mum walked into the sitting room, arms folded, looking around the place. "I thought Kate already cleaned up this place."

"Yes, I just thought I'd give it one more cleaning," she said.

"Omotoni, what is going on?" Her mum asked, and walked over to her. She took the mop stick from her hand and placed it against the wall. Then her mum held her hand, and then lead her to a couch. "Who is he?"

"He? Who?" Toni blurted out.

"Don't feign ignorance, Omotoni!" Her mum snapped with a stern look on her face.

Toni shifted on the couch, adjusting her shorts that needed absolutely no adjustments. "Mum, I told you I'm not ready to tell you yet. If you must know I'm happy."

"That's exactly what's scaring me!"

"You sound like you don't want me to be happy," Toni said in a more accusing tone than she would have wanted.

"What nonsense!" Her mum snapped. "Of course I want you to be happy, all I want is your happiness, but I'm scared." She threw her hands up to emphasize this, and Toni knew that whenever her mum did this, she must be getting gradually pissed. I've never seen you so happy about any other guy before, it's so different with this guy, whoever he is. Can't you see what's happening?"

Toni was at this point getting frustrated, she understood her mum's concern, but still, she wasn't a child anymore, she was an adult. "What's happening?"

"You love him, there's love written all over you, and it's only being a week since your first date, and I don't even know who this guy is!"

Her mum's words took a long time to settle in, and Toni couldn't help but see the truth in it. She loved Nasir, she had gone right ahead and fallen for him, and she can't even figure out when exactly it happened, but that's supposed to be a good thing, isn't it?

Toni jerked upright, feeling her mum's hand on her shoulder. She looked into her mother's face and saw nothing but pure concern there. "I'm scared, Omotoni. Those other guys, you didn't love them. If this one hurts you, it'd kill you, I can't watch that."

"So what?" Toni snapped, her mum's face filled up with shock. Yeah, it was shocking, never in her twenty five years of living has she raised her voice against her mum. "So I shouldn't love any other man because some bastards had toyed with me in the past. Well I also didn't want to, but I can't help it. It's so strange, everything with him feels so right, that it almost feels like he was created just for me." She calmed down a bit, and spoke a slowly. "At first I thought it was just the sexual attraction, but somehow, he has managed to weave his way into my heart, mum."
