chapter 4

the next morning noah woke up to his alarm going off for them to get up for school.
he shook reya
"cmon we gotta get up"
"we should skip school today"
"reya its only the second day"
"i hate school and everyone there"
"let's go gremlin"
he said pulling her up.

she stood up and rubbed her eyes
she leaned onto noahs shirtless torso and groaned.
she walked away and went to his closet.
she looked through his sweatshirts that he had hanging up.
she saw a red nike one and held it up. she looked down and saw a pile of her jeans folded neatly in a pile. she picked up a pair of ripped jeans and threw them over her arms.

she walked into the bathroom and changed.
she came out and saw noah standing at his closet with jeans on and no shirt. he pulled a white tee shirt out of his closet and put it on.

she stood at the full length mirror behind his door and applied mascara to her long eyelashes.

she flipped her hair over and wrapped it in a ponytail.

she looked at him and made a frowning face.
"do i look ugly" she asked.
"not at all" he replied.
she stuck up her middle finger and gave him a hug.
"ready to go" he asked her
"no but i don't have a choice" she joked.
he smiled and grabbed her backpack for her.
they ran down the stairs and went in the kitchen.
noah quickly ate half a bagel that his mom already made for him
and reya just sat there on her phone waiting for him

when he finished they both stood up.
he grabbed his keys and they went outside.
she got in his car and plugged her phone into the aux cord.
she played why try by ariana grande

ariana grande is reya's favorite singer. definitely not noah's favorite but he lets her play it cause it makes her happy.

eventually they got to the school.
he parked the car and she just sat there
"let's go" he laughed.
"noahhhh" she whined.
"cmon" he said.
she rolled her eyes and got out.

he put his arm out and she grabbed his hand.
(not in a romantic way lol,they just hold hands as friends. they always do)

they walked to the normal place that they wait outside in the morning.
noah stood up talking to his friends and she always leaned against him.
while he talked to his friends she just was on her phone scrolling through social media and answering her snapchats.

when the bell rang she rolled her eyes and groaned.
noah smirked
"cmon" he said.
she grabbed his hand and they walked into the school.
he walked her to her english class
she leaned against the lockers and he leaned up against her with his hand above her head on the lockers.

they looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds then she broke the eye contact because it was getting awkward.

"i'll see you in chemistry?" she said.
"uh yeah" he said rubbing the back of his neck.
she nodded and walked into her class.

the whole class period went by and she kept thinking about that weird stare her and noah shared in the hallway.

but she figured that she was just overthinking it and let it go.

at the end of the day she met noah outside.
neither of them had practice today

they walked outside and made their way to his car.
one of noahs football friends stopped noah to talk to him.
30 seconds into the conversation,reya got bored and took noahs keys out of his hand and unlocked the car. she gave him his keys back and got in the passengers seat.
she sat there on her phone waiting for him to get in the car.
he kept turning his head to make sure she was okay.
after only two minutes of talking to his friend he could see reya growing impatient. he laughed.
"alright man,i gotta go,reya is tired"
"what's her issue?" his friend asked
noah shrugged. "nothing,she's just having a rough week" he lied.

reya has been especially grumpy these last few days. she's been on edge and super tired.

he got in his car and turned to her
"sorry" he laughed.
she smiled. "you're good" she patted his shoulder.
"alright let's go i'm tired" she said and lightly hit the back of his head.

he smiled and started pulling out of the parking lot.

she got a text notification on her phone.
her phone dinged. she looked down at it then shut her phone off before noah could see anything or who it was from.

but when she looked down she immediately let out a big sigh and aggressively threw her phone onto her lap.
noah looked over
"everything okay?"
"yeah" she said.
"you sure? you've been like really mad recently. like more of a gremlin than usual."
"noah i said i'm fine" she snapped loudly.
he looked at her and his face softened

she realized that he was just trying to make sure she was okay and she yelled at him.

"noah i'm sorry,that came out of no where"
she said.
he didn't say anything
"i just,ayden is driving me crazy. and my dad has been texting me again and i just can't deal with both of them at once along with school and cheer."
tears started coming out of her eyes.
