A/N // So right now I'm re writing the old chapters, this one has been done!

Alvar's POV

"Mum, you need to stop fussing, I'm fine." I insisted as we stood on the buzzing platform next to the hogwarts express

"Ok, ok fine. I'm just excited for you." She beamed "Make sure you let Finn out as soon as you get a chance. Don't keep him locked up for too long." She asked

Finn was a birthday gift I had got that day we went to diagon alley. She surprised me with a trip to The Magical Menagerie, where I was allowed to pick out a pet for school. I was stuck on choosing between a cat or an owl, then I saw Finn, a small brown owl, his bright eyes instantly caught my attention.

"Did you pick up your fathers pin?" She asked

"Yeah, It's here." I replied showing her the pin shining on my jumper under my jacket

"Don't worry I won't let it out of my sight" I said smiling

"Ok, good. You best hurry and get a seat. The train's going soon." She pulled me in for a hug, kissing my head "Write as much as you can." She said quietly

"I will mum" I said, finally zipping up my jacket. I went to pick up Finn's cage and my trunk, and headed for the nearest door onto the train.

"Bye mum, I love you" I call She blew me a kiss as I turned down a corridor to look for a compartment

I eventually settled for an empty compartment that had nothing but two old trunks that had been thrown in. I moved them to one side and settled next to the window, looking for mum. I spotted her, knocking on the window and waving towards her, she spotted me, beaming and waving back. "Bye Al" She mouthed as the train began to move. "Bye!" I spoke out, while knowing she can't hear me.

"Fred, George. Mum said-" A harsh voice spoke as a tall boy in horn rimmed glasses and bright red hair threw the compartment door open "-Oh, sorry, I thought my brothers were in here." he spoke

"It's ok, are those their trunks?" I ask

"Yes, they are. Never mind, it doesn't matter." He shrugged leaving without another word.

I didn't give the strange boy another thought as I let my mind wonder as the train sped through london.

The compartment door opened a second time. Two identical red headed boys walked in, they looked as though they were around the same age as me, first years maybe? I suppose they're the brothers the other boy was looking for

"Oh, Georgie. There's someone in here" One of the boys spoke

"Oh, really. I didn't notice." He replied dumbly

"I suppose you don't mind us intruding." The first boy grinned as he sat opposite me, I think this one was fred?

"I guess it's only proper that we introduce ourselves. I'm Fred. This is George. Sorry about him, he's always looked like that." He joked as the second boy sat next to me.

"Hey? You do realise that we look exactly the same?" "What? Do we? I laughed at both of the twins swapping insults and jokes between the two of them.

"So... Do you have a name?" the twin opposite me asked.

"Yes?." I replied trying not to laugh

"I've always wanted to meet someone called Yes." He replied laughing

"It's, Alvar... Elffire." I replied.

Both of them looked at me curiously. "I'm sure I've heard Elffire before somewhere?" one of the brothers said

"Yeah, my dad was a famous dark wizard catcher back when you know who was around." I said quietly

"Our dad works in the ministry. We've probably heard him speak about him a couple times?"

"-I think your brother was in here earlier asking after you both?" I say remembering the strange boy who came in.

"Which one?" They both spoke at the same time

"I'm not sure, he had red hair and wore strange glasses?" I shrugged "-How many brothers do you have?"

"Too many" They both reply

"Do they all go to hogwarts?" I ask

"No, one has just left, one is in his 6th year, another in his 3rd."

"-Then us, then we have a younger brother and sister still at home."

"It's just me and my mum at home, I can't imagine living with that many people. It must be hell" I laugh

"I think hell would be quieter?" Fred replied

Quite a bit of time went by, the three of us continued to talk about families, eventually getting onto the subject of school and houses.

"Anything from the trolley, my dears?" A short old witch comes up to our compartment door following a trolley filled with all sorts of foods and treats.

"We've got food with us thanks." George replies.

I stand to pull out some sickles from my bag.

"3 Chocolate frogs and a pumpkin pastie please." I request. I was handed the food after I had paid 6 sickles and 4 knuts. I had sat back down handing the twins a chocolate frog each.

"Wow, thanks Al!" Fred said taking a frog

"-Fred, did you pick up Bills quiddich book?" A voice said as the compartment door opened
Another red headed boy stepped in, I'm guessing this was the brother in his 6th year.

"Oh, hello." He said as he noticed me.
"Charlie this here is Alvar Elffire." On of the twins said grandly

"Elffire?" He questioned he held out his hand for me to shake "I'm Charlie" He greeted

"...and yes I did get it, Bill gave it to me yesterday." Fred answered.

"Ok, only Percy is killing me with this bloody check list. He wants to see you both aswel, said to come and find you."

"Well, we're busy." George groaned
"Fair enough. I'll tell him that." Charlie grinned and left, closing the door behind him.

"I like him, he seemed cool." I said to them

"Yeah, he's the least annoying... even though we are the annoying ones?" George said
"But he's on about leaving to train dragons abroad after Hogwarts."
"So when's your younger brother coming to school?" I ask

"Oh, likkle Ronnies starting when we're in the 3rd year. So we've still got a bit of time thankfully."

The lights were lit up on the train, the sky grew a orange tinge as it began to get darker. We all put our robes and ties on as we were to be boarding the platform soon.

Eventually the train came to a slow stop, the corridor filled with voices and footsteps as everyone began to leave the train.
I took my trunk and finn, making a fuss in his cage, making my way out to the corridor.
