"ANYA, WE'RE NOT ORDERING CHINESE FOOD AGAIN THIS WEEK."

Grayson Stellard sat at the small table in the kitchen. His work was spread all around him, papers and wires and tools covering every inch of the already cramped table.

Anya poked her head into the kitchen with a frown.

"But it's good," She said, her coarse, raspy voice ringing through Grayson's ears. "And we've only had it once this week. That was Tuesday. It's Saturday."

"Aren't you tired of it kid?" Grayson put his glasses on the top of his head and leaned back in the chair to look at her. "You get the same thing everytime."

"I like routine." She shrugged.

About a year after Anya had escaped, she had found Grayson in New York. He was shocked and thrilled to see her, happy that she had managed to escape that horrible place. Garyson had apologized profusely that he never came back for her, it had just been too dangerous and considering his injury that HYDRA had given him when he was "fired", it would have been impossible to get her out on his own.

Grayson had been a scientist in New York most of his life. He was known for his wacky inventions and became known as "The Mad Scientist of the Upper West Side." That was until HYDRA thought he would be a good asset and forced him to work in the facility where Anya was being kept.

Grayson had taken pity on the girl with no memories, forced to become a weapon that she never wanted to become. He was the only one to show her kindness and she was forever grateful for that.

He had offered her a place to stay when she had found him. But it didn't last very long. Anya was only there a few years before she had turned to dust one day, leaving Grayson alone once more. But she had reappeared five years later in the living room one day, scaring poor Grayson to death.

It seemed like normalcy wasn't possible for Anya.

"Hey c'mere." Grayson beckoned her over to the table, picking up what he was working on. "I want to make sure this fits right."

"You're still working on that amplifier?" Anya frowned and sat next to him, eyeing the contraption cautiously.

"Yes I am now hold still." Grayson hooked part of it behind her right ear. A straight short wire clung to her cheek a few centimeters away from her mouth. Garyson took the rest of the wire and carefully attached it to what looked like a belt. He warped it around her waist, adjusting it so it was snug and wouldn't fall off. He looked at his work, eyes analyzing every part of it as Anya sat there.
