Chapter 46: This is For The Better

Felicine

"Wake up, Felicine. That's your name, right?"

"Ate Karmayne, have you already said your goodbye to your brother?"

"I already did, but I still can't stop him from what he's decided."

"Felicine!"

"Something will happen."

"Please, stop him."

"Xyril, it's time. We shouldn't stay here a little more."

"But we need her to save your brother!"

Voices rang on both of my ears. They weren't whispering. It's like having a normal conversation using their normal voice tone.

"Wait!" I can't stand up, parang may bigat na nakapatong sa katawan ko. Medyo blurry din ang paningin ko kaya naman ay hindi ko malinaw na makita kung sino ang dalawang babaeng nakikipag-usap sa akin.

"Hurry and wake up, Felicine." A sweet voice but in a desperate tone is what I heard. My vision is still blurry but I can feel that she's grabbing my shoulders. "Save my brother! At the haunted house you once visited!"

I held out my hand towards her and little by little, my vision is becoming clear. A bright light immediately scattered through my vision and two girls were standing in front of it.

"Save my brother, please!" A tall young woman pleaded. Her fingers were intertwined with the other as she leveled it to her nose. "Please!"

I stretched out my hand to them. "Wait!" I called out to them.

"Please!" She again pleaded.

"Felicine," tawag sa akin ng katabi niyang babae. Hindi ko gaanong maaninag ang kaniyang mukha dahil sa liwanag. "Take care of him for me, promise me. Take care of Linsly!"

"Wait!"

Bigla naman akong napabangon. Nakastretch ang aking braso na para bang may sinasabihan akong huminto habang ang mata ko naman ay nanlalaki.

"Felicine?" Agad na tinawag ni Horace ang aking pangalan. Tiningnan niya ako ng may medyong pagaalala sa kanyang mata. "You okay?"

My eyes remained staring at the white painted wall. I slowly dropped my stretched arms and combed my hair backwards, trying to sink in everything that just happened before they appeared in front of me.

Nakatayo lang kami kanina sa harap ng kulungan pero hindi ko alam kung ano ang pinag-uusapan nila. I wasn't paying attention to what were they doing because I still haven't moved on to what I did to Eudayme earlier.

Then, Horace asked me whether I was okay, and then Cali was about to tell what's going on inside my mind them my vision became blurry until my body collapsed.

Then, those two appeared, saying something about saving his brother at the haunted house we once visited-

"Horace!" I called.

"Yes?" He immediately responded.

"Where are Cali and the others?"

"Outside probably, waiting for some other members to march inside the jail." He said, jerking his thumb at the gray painted door. "Who cares about that now? The most important thing to know right now is your well-being."

"I'm already fine, that rest stored up my energy enough to be use in the next event." Ibinaba ko ang aking nga paa at isinuot ang sapatos ko. Nakatingin lang sa akin si Horace habang nakakunot ang kanyang noo.
