I take a sip from my coffee as I read my summary another time, making my head explode from a massive headache. Beside me, Emily sighs deeply out of frustration as she frowns deeply at the learning material on her laptop.
We're sitting in the library, spending our free period studying the last things for our English test we have later today. Mrs. Leitner was so kind to make some kind of summary for us, which includes the most important parts the test will be focused on.
Emily and I both decided to study hard for this test as it determines twenty-five percent of our grade for this trimester, which is a lot. I want to get a good grade on this big test.
The topic is not hard, and I have always liked English a lot. Mrs. Leitner made her summary easy and clear for us, making it easy to study for the test.
"Why are you studying during your free period? I agree it's a little cold outside, but the weather is still nice. What are you doing inside?" Ryan says with a surprised expression on his face as he approaches us.
Caine, Cameron, Jackson, and Hunter walk behind him, too caught up in their conversation to notice us sitting here. Emily looks up and gives Ryan a frowning gaze. She turns around in her chair while she raises her eyebrows at him out of disbelief.
"We're studying for the English exam we have today. Mrs. Leitner made a whole summary for us, which is very clear and easy to study. Mils and I decided to review some last important things." Emily says, showing her laptop to Ryan.
"We have a test today? I thought the test was supposed to be in two weeks." He says as he quickly reads the summary from Emily's laptop. Emily rolls her eyes out of annoyance and gives him a disbelieving look.
"You seriously need to pay more attention to your education." She says, placing the laptop back on the table. She focuses on the summary again and ignores Ryan's frowning look.
"I knew there was an exam coming up, but I just didn't know when." Ryan defends himself as he raises his hands in the air as a sign of surrender. Emily rolls her eyes and shakes her head out of disbelief.
"That's exactly her point, my friend," Caine says as he punching his friend softly. Cameron and Hunter nod out of agreement while Jackson chuckles softly.
"Don't act like you're the saint here. You didn't study either. I bet you didn't even know there was an exam today if Ryan didn't ask why we were studying." I say as I point my finger at him accusatively. I shoot him a skeptic look, and he shrugs his shoulders.
"Like I care. I'll be totally fine if I read the summary once. The topic is easy anyway." He says as he grabs my summary from the table. I printed it out because I can study better on paper than on a laptop. I try to grab it back, but he holds it up in the air as he continues reading.
I give up when I notice I'm never going to reach high enough to grab my summary back. I'm not tall enough to reach it. His hair is messy as always, and he's wearing dark grey ripped jeans, a white shirt, a green checkered shirt, and a pair of black vans.
He looks handsome as always.
"Can you just give my summary back? I want to study some more." I say as I shoot him an annoyed look. He smirks widely, and the amusement sparkles in his eyes. He shoots me a thinking look as he tilts his head.
"Haven't you studied enough, nerd? I'm pretty sure you are going to score high on this test." Caine says, lowering his arm so I can grab my summary back. I shoot him a warning glare and take place on my chair again.
Caine sighs deeply as he walks towards me. His hands find their way to my hair and stroke it softly, making warm feelings develop in my stomach. He watches over my head as he reads the summary with me.
