chapter 41 (finally out the bathroom)

nobodies POV

as chloe had said on the note to marinette, the receptionist sure enough did come to tell kagami and lila it was cleaning time

lila and kagami both sighed, but walked out (even though they did have an attitude)

they thought it was just cleaning, even so they left marinette in there, planning to come back to her later

little did they know they wouldn't be coming back to the bathroom

the receptionist unlocked the cubicle for marinette, and let her free from all her rope and tape

police cars were outside of the hospital, and lila and kagami were being taken away, until they would be held in court to plead innocent or guilty for planning murder

however, marinette didn't need to worry about them anymore, as she was going to get her scan

marinette thanked the kind receptionist, and walked down the hallway to find adrien waiting for her

she ran up to him and hugged him really tightly

they embraced in the hallway, and squeezed one another, not daring to let go

adrien put his hand on marinettes head, and held her head into his chest

he kissed her on the head

"i'm so glad you're okay marinette" he smiled at her

marinette blushed hard

"you too" she smiled up at him, and he met her lips with a kiss

the nurse smiled at the happy couple, and asked them to come into the doctors room, where she could scan the baby

marinettes POV

as adrien and i walked down the winding corridor, i looked around, staring at posters and birth certificates pinned upon the wall

the array of pictures of poorly children who had beat cancer made a tear well in my eye

"just in here lovely's" the nurse said, directing us into a room

adrien and i thanked her, and smiled at the doctor who was waiting to see me

adriens POV

as we walked into the scanning room, the doctor smiled at us

i took a seat next to mari, and she lifted her top up to reveal her slightly bigger belly

she was still small, but i couldn't believe my baby was growing inside of her

everything seemed so surreal

as i took a seat next to the bed that she was laying on, i grasped her hand for support, making her blush and smile at me

nobodies POV

as the doctor fiddled around her desk looking for the gel and scanner, marinette placed her hand on her baby

"right good afternoon miss dupain-cheng" she said, spinning her chair around to face them

"afternoon doctor" she replied nervously

"no need to be nervous love" she smiled warmly at the couple, and put some blue latex gloves on her hands

as she squeezed out some gel into her palm, she placed her gel-free hand on marinettes stomach

"this may feel cold" she said, waiting for marinette to come out of her daze and rejoin the conversation

"okay doctor, thank you" she smiled, squeezing adriens hand

adrien squeezed it back, and smiled at marinette

the doctor rolled the gel over marinettes bump

"how many weeks are you miss dupain-cheng?" the nurse asked

"well it should be around 5 or 7, we arent really sure, so we wondered if we could ask you" she shyly replied

"no worries" the nurse smiled, rolling the scanner around marinettes lower abdomen

"well for starters this baby is extremely healthy miss, and secondly, they should be around 8 weeks!" the nurse said

marinette and adrien looked at eachother confused

marinettes POV

hearing i was 8 weeks meant i only had 7 months left of my pregnancy

i was nervous, we still had to tell our parents

"doctor, do you know how long it is until we should know the gender" i asked, wanting it to be far away so it wasn't too late to tell my parents

"well in some cases we can see as early as 12 weeks, but it's usually 14 weeks, so you can book an appointment for then at reception to come back" the nurse replied

adriens POV

as we were sitting there, marinette was told we would know then babys gender in 6 weeks time

i was nervous, but excited for marinette and i

i wondered about how i'd tell my father

he'd probably make me arrange a meeting with nathalie before i could even enter the house

"would you like a look?" the nurse asked us both

we both nodded excitedly

she flipped the screen round, showing us our baby's head, arms, legs and stomach

i felt as if a hole in my heart was slowly being filled, and couldn't wait to show plagg the pictures when we get them printed

i wondered about telling ladybug i have a little one on the way too

maybe they could grow up and be best friends, just like me and bugaboo

i wondered how many weeks ladybug was, and how her and marinette would get along so well

nobodies POV

"okay miss dupain-cheng and mr aggreste, that's all for today, but you can go and make an appointment for 6 weeks time at the front desk" the doctor said, directing them out of her room

"okay, we will thank you" mari smiled, and shook the doctors hand

adrien shook her hand too, and walked alongside marinette to reception

as they signed papers from today's appointment and for the next appointment, they headed off into adriens car

"what a day" marinette sighed

adrien laughed at her, and kissed her on the head

"are you hungry mari" adrien asked, turning the car engine on

"a bit" she said, her stomach starting to growl

"what are you craving" he said, driving out the hospital car park

"a big mac" she started

"so mcdonald's?" adrien asked

"yes but i want a mcflurry too, inside the big mac" she started, looking embarrassed from her strange craving

adrien laughed at her

"whatever you say mari"

and they drove away, now faced with the mammoth task of telling their parents
