Episode 10

Katherina POV

I was worried about the presentation when I heard a knock on my door and Natalia came in.

"Mr. Smith and his team have arrived," she said.

I went out right away to meet everyone. Mr. Smith is a well-known businessman in the United Kingdom, and he was finally present with us. I walked down the hall, where I noticed five new faces.

I approach Mr. Ruiz, who was apparently standing with Mr. Smith, and when he turns around, my eyes widen in surprise, "Katherina meet Mr. Smith, CEO of Smith's industries..." Mr. Ruiz introduced me to a tall man in a black coat, who was wearing black sunglasses and had a slight smile on his face; it took some time for me to remember where I had seen him, and when I did I got speechless, "And Mr. Smith, this is Katherina-

"A very sweet lady from the pizza joint," the guy said, extending his hand to me, "What a coincidence? It's really nice to meet you again," he said.

"Same here" I whisper getting over the shock.

"Do you know each other from before?" Mr. Ruiz asks in confusion.

"Oh yeah, I spilled water on her once," Mr. Smith said making me smile at the introduction, "I hope you have forgiven me for that," he asked me

"Of course, Mr. Smith-

"Please Katherina, call me Evan" he cut me off, "We don't have to be formal, we've already crossed the line of being formal strangers that day," Evan said.

"Right" I nodded my head.

Mr. Ruiz introduced me to the other team members, and afterwards we all entered the conference room for the meeting.

Everybody took their seats, I sat at the far end of the long desk for the presentation. Mr. Ruiz kicked off the meeting, and everyone was discussing about the project until it was time for my presentation.

I was about to get up when Evan said, "Please sit, Katherina" he stopped me, "We have already decided what we want to do," he said, drawing everyone's attention to him. I was baffled by his statement because we hadn't even discussed anything.

"But Mr. Smith we haven't even presented our project idea yet," I said to him.

He stood from his seat and approached me, "It's Evan for you Katherina," he said emphasizing each word. "And we don't need any kind of presentation to make a decision..."he stood next to me, "Pierce Enterprises is one of the biggest names in business around the world..." he told everyone, and then he looked directly at me, and our eyes met, "and I don't need to think twice before saying yes to collaborate with you and get the opportunity to work with you," he said.

"Evan, this is a professional decision, don't make it based on anything else," I said as I stood from my seat.

"I'm not... this partnership is just what I've been waiting for, for a long time... And knowing that I'll be working with you, I'm not hesitating... This is not something to be think over... We're doing it together," Evan announced.

"This is incredible..." Mr. Ruiz broke our gaze as everyone stood up and began congratulating one another, but I was still stunned because it was still unbelievable to accept.

Mr. Ruiz tapped my back in appreciation, which jolted me out of my trance, "You have worked very hard for this Katherina, congratulations..." He said this while shaking my hand.

"You too sir" I replied.

"Congratulation Ms. Pizza joint," Evan said making fun of me.

"Actually it's Mrs. Pierce" I corrected him.
