The team was gathered in one of the many conference rooms planning out their next mission. Some Hydra agents were spotted in London. Although she wasn't allowed to come on the mission, Elaina begged for a ride (even though she really didn't need one) so she could go visit everyone back home. "Alright fine you can come, but someone is going to come with you." said Tony before he continued. "Barnes, you'll go with her." "What? Why me?" Bucky asked, annoyed. "Because you of all people know what Hydra is capable of if you fall into their hands again." Elaina was confused by Tony's answer and looked towards Bucky who didn't look happy but nodded in agreement.
When the jet landed they quickly discussed the plan for the next few days that they were there before separating. "C'mon it's not that far, we are going to walk." Elaina said to Bucky. They walked through the gloomy grey streets of London, you could hardly tell it was mid June. Bucky trailed behind her constantly looking around making sure they weren't being followed. Elaina had pointed out to him some of the Muggle spots she used to hang out at but he wasn't paying attention. A dark glare hung over his face, still clearly upset that he had to babysit her.
Elaina turned into an alley and started making her way towards the old pub that most Muggles would never notice. The sign above it was blank, but as she got closer words appeared on it reading, The Leaky Cauldron. She and Bucky walked through the pub as she greeted some fellow wizards, including Tom the Innkeeper before walking to the back door. When they walked through the second door, Bucky was confused when he faced a brick wall. Elaina pulled her wand from her hair and tapped a pattern on the bricks. Just then the wall began to shake and the bricks split apart to reveal a bright and colorful street. "Welcome to Diagon Alley."
This time as Bucky looked around, he didn't look around to make sure they weren't followed, he looked around in amazement. Elaina laughed slightly at his reaction. The dark stern looking soldier had just become a child in a candy store. "This way, I have to make a stop at the bank first." She said, leading him to Gringotts Bank. They walked inside and made their way to the Goblin at the back of the building. "I wish to enter vault 711." Said Elaina to the Goblin that was busy writing at his desk. The Goblin peered over the high desk and looked down at her, "Identification." She handed him her wand and her key before he nodded and instructed them to follow another Goblin towards the vaults. "Bucky, do you like rollercoasters?" She asked him as she followed the Goblin into a cart. "Yeah, they're not too bad." He answered as he sat down next to her. "Good" she smirked at him right before the cart took off on the windy track to the vault.
The cart stops in front of vault 711 and Elaina steps out with the key in hand to open it. When the door swings open, Bucky's eyes widen at the copious amount of gold, silver, and bronze coins that were piled together in the small stone room. "Is this all yours?" he asked as she leaned over, grabbing small handfuls from each pile and put it into a change purse. She stood up and nodded, "The Black Family fortune, left to me by my father when he died." She gave him a small smile and ushered him back to the cart.
