DREAM POV:
I reach for a chip. We've been casually chatting for about an hour, and it was killing me. I shove my hands under my leg to stop them from winding around George's shoulders.
He's straight. I remind myself. He won't like you.
"Boys, food!"
We all jump up. I pull my phone out to mute it, and follow the rest downstairs.
Sapnap waits in the hallway."You good?" He asks.
I laugh. "Yeah, why?"
"You seemed upset,"
I assure him I'm fine, and enter the kitchen.
"Are you lot ok with eating in Karl's room?" One of Karl's mom's ask.
We murmur something similar to yes, and she chuckles."Ok, well, grab some dishes and cutlery, cups are with them if you want a drink, and take what you want, we have backup,"
We all move over to drawers and cupboards, knowing where it all is. When we've taken some food, we start to trickle back upstairs. Karl stays behind to talk to his parents, so the 4 of us are left alone in his room again.
We all sit pretty much where we were before, but George has moved closer to me. Of course, leave it to me to notice that. We all start eating, talking about various topics that we haven't yet exhausted. Then, a phone rings. Sapnap gets his phone out, glances at the screen and declines. We say nothing, and continue talking. By now, I've eaten, and my hands are shoved under my legs again.
"Hey, we should play Minecraft tomorrow," Quackity says.
"Yeah! I still have that server from ages ago," I agree.
"I can play any time really," Karl says.
"Same here. But I might just do so homework on the call as well, I want to chill on Sunday," George comments.
I look at him, my gaze lingering longer than I meant. I cough, and cover it up.
"Aw, look at little Georgie, stressed about school," I taunt.
He blushes. "Shut up," he whines, dragging the p out. I laugh, and notice Quackity and Karl exchanging a look. Huh.
I throw my arm around him, amd pull him to my side.
"Aw, you got flustered," I tease. Shockingly, he doesn't pull away, and stays against my side. My brows furrow. That's weird. When Karl raises an eyebrow, George detached himself and whacks my arm gently.
I check my phone.
"I should get going," I say, apologetically."Same," George says.
"Awh. Shame. Call tomorrow?" Karl says.
I agree, and walk downstairs. I grab my stuff, and open the door.
"Bye," I call out.
I walk out, and wait for George at the bottom of the drive.
When he comes down, we start walking. We live near each other, his house nearer the school, mine nearer the park. We make casual conversation and I have to stop myself looking at him. When I do, I instantly regret it. The setting sun shines through his hair, and his face glows gold. I stare for a second, and pull my gaze away. God, I love him."You good?" George asks, ahead. I nod, not realising I had stopped moving. As I catch up, I take a moment to collect myself, and drill the mantra into my head.
He's straight, he won't like you.
I repeat it till we are walking in line again. I move my hand
closer, our fingers just brushing. I gulp, and agree with whatever George is saying. We turn a corner, and George starts walking up a drive. I curse. I forgot he lived there."Bye!" He grins.
"Bye!" I wave back, as he opens his door. He looks back as he walks in, sending me a glance before shutting the front door. I walk home in silence, my brain running at 10 miles an hour, thoughts bouncing around.
He doesn't like you
You're just friends
But would friends look back again?
I sigh as I reach my house. I'll think about this in the morning.

Sorry this is shorter, just sort of ran out of steam. I promise there will be more of the other ships, I just have DNF and Karlnapity on the brain.
