Kai was very scared to admit it out aloud that he had the fattest crush on his roommate- Kang Taehyun. Like who wouldn't have on this guy who looks like a 'Greek God'. That's only one of his many campus nick-names. Well most people only like him for his looks but Hueka knows better. He has seen the warmest person behind that cold exterior, the brightest smile behind the lips usually pressed in thin lines and emotion in the emotionless eyes.

He has seen the 'real' Kang taehyun without his mask to the world.

He still remembers the first time he had fallen sick. Taehyun had even missed a day at school just to take care of him. He had fed him that day, didn't think that it was weird for a boy so old to be obsessed with soft toys and plush. He even allowed him to make mess of the living room where they watched a movie. The best yet the worst part is he didn't return back to his initial way of living like only interacting when required, being stern about following dorm rules, and forcing him to study if he knew Kai bunked a class.

Since that day he became more human.

Yes he was still with Kai following dorm rules but a few slip ups were now allowed. He still remembers the stern and intimidating look Taehyun gave him when he once returned after midnight. In his defense he was celebrating a friend's birthday and was dropped home, but tae made him feel like a kid that day. The looks, lecture and that stern but slight angry and disappointed look he got that day reminded him of his mother. The worry in tae's eyes made him feel something. He realized that he didn't want Tae angry at him; he only wanted a beautiful smile on his face, he didn't like the idea of Tae looking so much after someone else. It was then he realized the inevitable- he had a huge crush on Tae.

It was very difficult for him to cover it up. Other than that it became a burden on him, to keep this a secret especially after a few slip ups here and there. Like one time when Tae asked him what he liked more between a cat and a dog? Instead of giving an answer he said "You" before panicking and asking Tae for his opinion first. He never wanted floor to swallow him that bad.

Another time was yesterday when he was asking him who is the most handsome in a random drama (he didn't even bother hearing the name) and he replied "YOU" again before getting up and rushing got his rooms.

Yesterday night he still remembers Tae's hurt face as he closed the door, so he decided to confess to him today.

"Tae can I talk to you?" he said nervously to him in the morning when Tae was preparing milk.

"uh, sure. What is it?"

" umm first of all I wanted to apologize for yesterday. I didn't mean to shut my door on you. It's just that I was scared."

"Scared of what?" Kai could feel Tae slip into his colder tone.

"Scared that you would hate me. But I can't see your hurt face, so I am confessing..."

"That you didn't hear what I was talking about yesterday, right?" Tae replied a bit irritated.

"there is something more to that. I like you."

"WHAT!"

"I like you. I have had a crush on you since a long time. In the start I was very afraid of my own feelings, but as I acknowledged them I fell deeper."

Taehyun didn't know how to respond to that so he just picked up his bag and left.

Kai couldn't help but feel bad as the doors closed. He was afraid this would happen. He sincerely didn't want to lose a friend like Tae, but seeing the repercussions of hidden feeling on himself and others especially Tae he had no other option. He felt like a weight is lifted off his chest. He signed as he retreated back to his room.

...

He didn't go outside when he heard the door open. He seriously didn't have the guts to face Taehyun again. So he just stayed in his room.

"Kai can you let me in?"

Kai opened the door as he stared at the ground. He raised his brows when he felt Taehyun push something in his hands. It was a cute plush toy he was eyeing a day or 2 before. He looked up at Taehyun in shock only to be handed more and more soft toys. Taehyun handed him so many that he fell down in shock. He kept them on the carpet at side and noticed that all were of different shapes and sizes.

He looked at Tae in shock who just petted his head before speaking, "pabo, you thought I would reject you. Have you ever seen yourself in the mirror? No one in right mind will reject you. I love you too. But I wanted to be the one who confesses. I got shocked when you did that first. SO I am sorry for leaving you thinking I left you. NEVER am I leaving you again.
These soft toys, I have been collecting them in my car since past 2 months. Not all are up right now. There are more in my car. I got all these to confess to you. But you did it first, so I was lost. So let me do it again."

He went out and brought Kai's favorite drink as he handed it to him before going to stand in front of him with a cute toy.

The moment Kai hugged the toy like his usual habit and almost dropped the toy at what happened next. The toy let out a small voice pushing its hand which had a huge heart towards him. "Will you be Kang Taehyun's one and only boyfriend?"

"tae- tae YES YES I WILL BE YOUR BOYFRIEND..."

Tae felt a smile creep up him as his now boyfriend pulled him in a hug.

Though I would agree I was quite confused between 2 such cute requests of yours, but following my rule I had to do this earlier...but I am really sorry this is quite short....
