[MINAKAE'S POV]
"Jay tone it down and suck it up!" Kai shouts, annoyed. I laugh, having of finished training for the day. I sit down next to Jade, who I can tell is stifling a laugh. I smile. Being with the ninja has really lifted all our spirits.
Zane and Bec return from the room over, and I see Bec stare at Z questionably. He catches her glance and rubs his neck awkwardly, and she's practically shooting daggers back at him. Something happened. Welp, guess I stand corrected about the spirits thing. At least they're not at each others necks yet..
"Hey, Coda, Caden, Jade, Lean, Mike? Can you guys come with me quickly? Z, you too." Bec says.
"Yep, right behind you." And they all go below deck. I use my enhanced hearing to listen to the conversation.
"Zane knows."
"WHAT?"
"Zachary told him."
"Gee, no need to full name me."
"..."
"Okay fine, I told him."
"So Zane knows."
"Mhm."
"Well, we still exist so-"
"I guess. But we gotta be careful."
"How much does he know?"
"My abilities and our origin."
"All of us?"
"I assume he does."
"Yup, from what he told me."
I cant believe what I'm hearing. I look over at Zane, who resumed training with Jay, acting like he's none the wiser. Wind blowing softly, I smile, unknowingly tilting my head slightly, amazed by the fact Zane is keeping a secret from his team.
"You good, Minakae?" Nya asks me, handing me a bottle of water, "You spaced out."
"Yeah. Just thinking."
"About?" She asks
"About how well you guys cooperate with each other. Its inspiring."
"Yeah, I guess it is. We're like a family. You guys are sort of like those cousins that we didn't know we had."
"Cousins?" I laugh. If only she knew.
"Yeah. Or children." She says
OKAY time to stop testing my luck.
"Imagine that, you guys being our future kids, somehow coming back in time to help us with the SoG."
"Yeahhh..." I say, rubbing my neck awkwardly, which she doesn't pick up on, luckily. "Crazyy.."
