Chapter 35- MERRY CHRISTMAS

[MINAKAE'S POV]
I wake up with a groan. It's the middle of the night, and I could have sworn I heard a roar? I get out of bed, my sister fast asleep. I walk to the window and see a shadow on the trees in the nearby forest. I look up and see... a snow sled? Being pulled by a dragon? I hear a voice that I think said "Oh oh oh! Merry Whipmas!" before the sled gets pulled out of eyesight. I rub my eyes. "Must be hallucinating." I shrug and mutter "If not, then another day in Ninjago". I head to lie back on my bed and fall back asleep.

[SILVER'S POV]
I wake up to the smell of bacon cooking in a distant room. I almost float out of bed and practically fly following the smell like one of those cartoons.
"Good morning, Silver. Sleep well?" Zane asks me. I smile and nod.
"Smells good. Let me know when it's ready." I say, and he nods. Z comes with the salt shaker and I smile. Since... The incident.. Z hasn't been able to spend time with his father, now he can. I still feel horrible though...

[Flashback]
"Hey, Uncle Zane, can Z come over?" I ask over the phone.
"Yeah, Zachary can come over. What for?" He asks in return.
"A drill with my pupil." I shrug, forgetting he can't see me.
"You have a pupil!?" Zane asks me, shocked.
"Yeah, I do. He has animal abilities and wanted to be able to control them. And you know me, heh, wouldn't be able to resist helping if I was in vengestone chains in the cursed realm."
*Zane laughs* "You're so much like your father. Always putting others first."
"Not that I would know that. But thanks anyway, uncle. So..."
"Zachary is on his way! I'm coming with him though, there is a few things I need to talk to your mother about."
"Okay! I'll see you in a bit!" I exclaim, hanging up the phone.

Several minutes later they arrive, and Leo goes all shy and hides behind me. Z smiles softly and bends down to Leo's height.
"Hey there, kiddo. I won't hurt you." He puts out his hand to offer a handshake, making Leo grip my back tighter, shaking his head stubbornly. I laugh slightly.
"Leo, this is Zachary, or Z, as we call him. Descendant of the master of Ice, Zane. You wanted to do that drill? Z is the best person for it."
"What drill?" Z asks me.
"*Whisper*He asked me to help him learn Spinjitzu.*Whisper*Don't tell anyone that. He is the start of a bright future ahead, and I want to help him persue fighting for Ninjago. Even if that means I get into trouble with Master Wu."
"I see.. but I'm not sure I'm the best person. I'm a prototype, I have to reboot my system every few hours. My power core is unpredictable."
"I know, but you're also the strongest conditioned amongst the NGN, the smartest, and the calmest. Leo is... Unique."
"Bexxa, you know better than anyone none of that is true. I'm not strong. I am made of Nanotechnology which is weak on its own. I don't even have powers for your great grandfather's sake!"
"I know, but please can you at least try?" I ask, giving him my wolf pup eyes.
"No. Don't look at me like that. Rebecca no..."
"Pleaaaase?" I ask again.
"Okay, fine. But only if the kid wants me to." He sighs, caving.
Leo looks up at me, then Z, then back at me. He nods quickly, a smile forming ear to ear.
"Alright, let's get started."
-TIMESKIP-
"Okay, Leo. One more time. Over the planks, dodge the sword, here comes the dummy!" I say, going through the movements and doing Spinjitzu.
"Over the planks, dodge the sword, here comes the dummy." Leo says, concentrating. He spins slowly and falls. Z stands on the other side of the training yard,pretending to be the dummy.
"Why did I agree to this?" He asks me annoyed and I shush him.
"You've got this." I encourage him.
"Ninja...go!" He exclaims, a brown tornado forming around him. I exclaim excitedly, but a series of porcupine quills start flying in all directions. I was frozen in fear, and by the time Leo had stopped spinning, I was lucky enough to not have been hit. Z on the other hand...
Z lies on the ground, a quill through his power source.
Zane comes rushing out and gasps when he sees his son like that. Leos eyes are deep in fear, and I comfort him. He didn't mean to... If anything it's my fault. I should never have asked him to come. I tell Zane everything that happened and he smiles softly. I don't know why... At least I didn't until I saw him open up his chest. He removes the quill from Z's chest and takes out his power core, using the last remaining energy he had to put it in Z. A chill in the air forms as Z comes to.. to see his father on the ground. I tell Leo it's the end of today's training and he leaves mournfully.
"Zach, I-" I start, as Z walks out and leaves too.

I am glad he forgave me... I wouldn't have.

[CADEN'S POV]

"I... I can't control it... You all need to go."
"We're not leaving you, Bec!" Minakaes voice says
"Caden, get my sister out of here. NOW!" I see Becs eyes turn purple and I grab Minakaes hand pulling her away as she's screaming her sisters name.

I shoot awake.
It was just a dream.
FSM I hate hyper realistic dreams.

I head out to the eating area to see everyone is already having breakfast. Bacon, soup and salad with chicken. And... What is that? A jug of... Cream? But it looks like egg yolks combined with milk or something. I dub thee egg nog. A large jug of egg nog in the centre of the table, half empty. Half full glasses occupy the space next to the plates and everyone looks happy. Bec sees me.
"Morning, sleepyhead! Did you sleep well?" She asks.
I decided against telling anyone about the dream.
"Yeah I did." I lie.

Hello guys, Tabia here. Keep in mind the whole story behind Christmas never happened in Ninjago, so they don't know what Christmas is. What do you think about Z's backstory? Poor Zane.
