They are polar opposites and not even in the opposites attract way. It's the way where they'd kill each other given the chance. The only thing I can think that can help the ship is, when Nagito cut off his hand and replaced it with junko's. That was only after Chiaki was killed and he became a remnant therefore he wouldn't have done it if he wasn't a remnant.
