"Here, try this." Jas says, handing me a random dress from her closet.
We are in her room, getting ready for Tyler's party.
For some reason, my mom and Jordan were more than happy to let me go.
I didn't give it too much thought though.
"This one?" Jas says.
She shakes her head.
"Too plain."
"This?"
"What am I thinking? Of course not!" She says to herself.
"Jas!" I say, interrupting her monologue.
"Hmm?" She says, distractedly.
"This is taking forever! Hurry up or else-"
"Okay, no. This dress is too drab on you. Wait. You're favorite color is black. I have the perfect dress for you." Jas says, more to herself than to me.
She rummages through different hangers and pulls out one with a black dress draped over it.
It's a simple yet appealing.
At least it's something I would wear.
"Here. Go change. I'll put your makeup when you come out. Time to make Erick's jaw drop!" She says, pushing me towards the bathroom.
She knows me so well.
I'm seventeen and because I rarely wear makeup, I can't put it on artistically like Jas.
Jas watches tons of makeup videos and practically worships Kylie Jenner and James Charles.
I shake my head, laughing.
"What are you going to wear, missy?" I ask.
I changed into the dress and Jas put some light blush, lip gloss and mascara on me.
While I look ready to party, she looks ready to sleep.
Jas scowls.
"What should I wear?" She asks.
"Hold on." I say, pulling out my phone.
I pull out my contacts list and I'm surprised to see that the first name is Erick.
How the hell is his number saved?
To satisfy my childishness, I edit the number and enter his name as 'Lucifer'.
Then I shoot him a text.
'What's Jake's favorite color?'
Lucifer:- Ice blue. Why?
Me:- Ok thanks.
"Wear this." I say, grabbing a blue dress that was tight at the chest and flowy at the hip.
It suited Jas a lot.
She looks at me, eyebrows raised.
I ignore her, pushing her towards the bathroom.
"Ready to go?" I ask Jas.
She had taken ages just to figure out how she wanted her hair to look.
I just curled the ends of mine and let it flow down in lose waves.
Jas nods.
"Oh, I almost forgot. Hold on." She says, heading back into her room.
I groan and sit on her couch.
