Chapter 4

"Oh my gosh! Really ate?!" 

I'm in the midst of a phone call with my sister to tell her about my encounter with that guy.

"What will I do now? Can you suggest a new attorney for me? Bakit kase siya pa ang kinuha ni mommy?" Call me exaggerated but I am willing to ignore him now.

Hindi ko alam kung ano pa ang mga maaaring mangyari at natatakot akong mabigo ko na naman muli ang sarili ko. Lalo na't may kakaiba pa naman siyang epekto sa 'kin.

"Mom doesn't know too. Ang sabi mo kase ay Hugh ang pangalan ng ama ng baby mo 'di ba? And please, calm down ate. Maybe he can be trustworthy?" She said unsure. Pati kapatid ko ay hindi rin sigurado.

I sighed for the nth time now. It's already past seven in the evening yet, I still haven't eat my dinner. I already lost my appetite.

"How can I trust him, Myrtle? Naging duwag nga siya noon eh!" 

"Noon 'yon! Iba na ngayon ate." Napailing nalang ako nang magsimula na naman kaming magsigawan.

Halos araw-araw noon sa Korea ay puro kami bangayan. She's a nice person but when it comes to arguments like this, she will never let herself lose.

"Give him a chance. Besides, nagpaliwanag na siya sa 'yo 'di ba? I know you still can't trust him fully but learn to consider his side. He'll make it up to you...I'm sure of that."

Huminga ako nang malalim para mapakalma ang sarili ko. I am even confused to whom shall I believe. Si Upton ba? Ang kapatid ko o ang sarili ko? Pakiramdam ko rin tuloy ay mas mature pang mag-isip ang kapatid ko kesa sa'kin.

"What if he fails?" I heard her sigh on the other line. I know she's also calming herself because her older sister is being hard-headed again.

Sorry sis...

"It's not your fault already. At least you take the risk for your daughter. And another reminder, don't precede to conclusions. I'll call again next time, ate. I need to go, bye!"

May gusto pa sana akong sabihin sa kanya pero napatay na niya agad ang tawag. What now?

Bago pa ako mamatay sa kakaisip sa susunod kong gagawin ay napagpasyahan kong lumabas muna para kumain. Wala pang grocery items dito sa condo ko dahil bukas pa lang ang plano ko para mag-grocery. After getting my pouch and checking my outfit, I stormed outside. Naka t-shirt nalang ako ngayon dahil baka mahamugan ako sa labas kapag naka-off shoulder pa ako.

At dahil sa kaka-madali ko ay muntikan na akong matumba nang may mabangga akong pader.

W-wait...how come I will bump into a wall? When I lifted my head, I was in a total awe upon seeing Upton in front of me.

Binabangungot ba ako? 

A smirk slowly formed on his lips as he stare at me and bit his lower lip. Damn! Is he trying to seduce me now? Is he even aware that he looks so sexy while doing that?

I shook my head and tried to divert my attention. It's a bad move to fantasize over him now.

"What are you doing here?" taka kong tanong. Napaatras naman ako nang humakbang ito palapit sa 'kin.

Bakit pa ang hilig niya lumapit sa 'kin? Kanina pa siya ah! Tumigil lang ako sa pag-atras nang maramdaman kong pader na talaga ang nasa likuran ko. Nilagay niya ang dalawa niyang kamay sa magkabilang gilid ko at ibinaba ang tingin sa mukha ko.

He's freaking tall that he need to lower his head just to level my face. I can hardly breathe while he's trapping me between his firm arms. I can't look at him straight in the eyes so I had my full attention on his adam's apple that keeps on moving up and down. Pati paglunok niya ay ang hot tignan!

"Enjoying your view, darlin'?" He chuckles near my ear.

I felt billions of sparks that sent shivers all over my system because of his sudden move.

"W-what are d-doing?" Hindi ko na kayang itago pa ang kaba sa boses ko. 

Maybe he noticed that I'm feeling uncomfortable with our position and distanced himself from me. Nakahinga ako nang maluwang do'n. P-pero bakit parang...

Na-disappoint yata ako?

Arrgggghh!

"I want to make it up with you so I bought the unit in front of your room," He said as a matter of fact and pointed his room.

"Really huh?"

"Yes, babe." I arched my brows when I heard his endearment.

"Babe? Pasmado ata bibig mo. Kanina darlin' tapos babe naman ngayon? Seriously Upton, huwag mo akong itulad sa mga babae mo." 

Inis na inis ko siyang nilagpasan. Is he trying to flirt with me? Sana naman ay ayus-ayusin niya dahil kung ano-ano tinatawag sa 'kin. Baka sa susunod naman ay honey, baby, wifey, sweetie pie, shortcake, puto, kutsinta. Ghad! I hate him so much!

Mabilis ang mga hakbang na ginagawa ko pero nararamdaman kong sinusundan niya ako at naririnig ko pang pinagtatawanan niya ako. Pinindot ko ang elevator at nang bumukas ay agad akong pumasok. I badly wanted to shout in annoyance when he rushed to enter inside.

"Hindi mo ba talaga ako patatahimikin?!" sigaw ko. Buti nalang at dalawa lang kami dito ngayon kundi nakakahiya naman kapag aawayin ko siya sa harap ng ibang tao.

Kung alam ko lang na ganito ang bubungad sa 'kin pagka-uwi ay sana sinama ko na rin ang kapatid ko para naman kahit papaano ay may kakampi ako. But I suddenly remembered what she told me earlier...

"Maybe he can be trustworthy..."

And I doubt if she will be on my side. Baka makipag-tulungan pa siya sa lalakeng 'to para bwisitin ang araw ko.

"I can't just leave you alone, Corrine. You just came home and who knows if Hugh has eyes on you somewhere?" Tinaas-baba pa niya ang kanyang kilay na animo'y pinipilit akong magtiwala nalang sa kanya.

Isn't it too soon? I mean, things just happened so quick in just a blink of an eye. I didn't expect to know the whole truth behind that night and now, the real father of my child is with me and pestering the hell out of me!

"You're just using that excuse to be with me, aren't you?" Ngumisi ito.

Seriously, he looks like a bad boy in my eyes. He has a tattoo on his wrist, a Japanese word to be exact. I wonder what does it mean. He has pierced behind his ears and wearing a white shirt and a ripped jeans. I guess he's a six feet tall and he also had a skinny body figure like some ulzzang on the internet. He doesn't look like an attorney at all. 

Nang magkita naman kami kaninang umaga ay naka-tux pa ito at maayos ang itsura. Well, I'm not saying that he doesn't look decent but he looks so damn different tonight! But I kinda prefer him this way...

"Babawi nga kase ako sa 'yo 'di ba? Saan ka nga pala pupunta eh gabi na?"

Nang makarating sa ground floor ay nauna niyang akong pinalabas. Naglakad naman siya sa gilid ko at sinasabayan ako. Mabilis ang lakad ko habang siya ay sakto lang dahil malalaki naman ang hakbang niya kaya naaabutan niya ako.

"Kakain lang ako. Ikaw? Talagang susundan mo pa ako?" pagsusungit ko rito.

"Yep. I'll be with you wherever you go." 

Kumabog ang dibdib ko sa sinabi niya. 

"Even in hell?" Ngumisi ito sa 'kin tsaka tumango. I stopped myself from forming a smile until he said something that made me totally lose my sanity.

"I can even bring you to heaven, darlin'..."
