Long Poem: "Knocking on my Heart"
One sunny morning
A tune woke me up from a dream
A song, calling out to me
I hear its melody
As I hear my cellphone ring
Your voice, saying you'll meet me
your laugh, trying to cheer me
I say, see you 10:30
I'm so excited to be with you
I danced without a tune
It's impossible, improbable
I can't believe I'm falling for you
It's illogical, impractical
Never again should my heart play a fool
But there's a rhythm in my mind
That keeps knocking on, knocking on my heart
So we met at some place
You tell me bout' your day
then you, you tell me you love me
I respond by saying thanks
Those feelings, I'm scared to share
I know I can't tell you what I feel
Still, you stayed here beside me
Still you continued to care for me
While I try to avoid you
And keep thoughts secured
It's something not heard, not seen
Yes, it means so much to me
I promise you, it's true
You don't need me to say I love you
