Making his existence itself a deterrent to villains. He became a symbol of peace in both name and reality...That same man, that my friend idolized so much ever since he was a child. Has told him that-

Izuku remembers what they told him. That he couldn't even compare to the others, that he should just give up, to his mother saying sorry to him with tears in her eyes. He can't stop the tears from flowing as he heard the words that came out of All Might's mouth

All Might: "You are worthy to inherit my power"
